    Holy crap! Easy explanation!

I would add that the nuts mentioned in step 8 are 10mm.

It wasn’t hard once I dropped the rear of the headliner. I used a 1/4” drive with a small extension. The deep socket is a must to get over the post.

I did manage to lose one nut but a dab of silicone on my finger made it stick so I could get it back.

In retrospect, I would probably put some tape in the socket or rubber cement so that I wouldn’t lose the nut.

Edit: so if you do happen to lose a nut, once you have removed the 3rd brake light you have way better access to retrieving it as long as it hasn’t traveled too far.

The oval hole is where the posts and nut go. It is relatively flat for several inches either direction so you can probably snag a lost nut. ;)

    FEF6A375-1837-49B3-926B-BF8A7E9D52C1.jpg

Here is what the removed brake light looks like. You can see the posts and the 10mm nut. It was not tightened down for me and it came off easily.

    ONWARD!

Cleaned up the sealant...used acetone from another build...this took a little while.

    Removed the foam and adhesive.

Thanks @MESO for the “blemished” BD5....went with primer filler and then a duplicolor rock guard coating. $17 bucks well spent.

Here is a shot before the soldering and old adhesive cleaned off with acetone then a wipe down.

As some people have stated the attachment bolts are a tiny, and I say, tiny bit smaller than the 2019 OR holes. I simply drilled them a tad bit and sprayed with primer..

    Here’s the shot.

Thanks again for the well written explanation @NoOne

I'm tackling this mod in the next week or two. Am I missing something here? How am I supposed to run the Baja lights through this? Do those tiny cogs need to be twisted off? Or should they already have come off?

no they do not remove. I just made the star as a design. You will use the 2 SHORT allen screws included with our Baja Rock lights and self thread them into the premade holes.
here is a video showing how easy it makes threads

    NO....DO NOT DO THAT!!!!

I ran into a similar situation.

The wiring actually goes through the slots at the bottom...

The wires go thru the slot on the enclosure.

They are a pain to get the wire through them. Blow compressed air through the slots and then fish SHOVE a stiff wire through.

You might see some powder and that I believe it is normal from the 3D printing.

If you get stuck message me and I’ll walk you through it over the phone.

It’s not obvious and it can take a bit of time.

The star backing holds the BD short ones from your package
