Super Ultimate 3rd Brake Light Build

Pretty sure that adding a couple of relays to the front camera mod is the solution to this. The way the modification works now is that it uses a relay to send the feed signal to the dash. By adding a 3 position switch to control the relays I think you would be set.

 

I tried the same thing. I had two cracked lenses. Called KC Hilites and they do not sell them. You have to get new lights.
If you do find some, let me know, I’d love to buy a few extras.

 

The Meso pod works well as a bed light in the Tacoma. I use the 400 lumen Baja Designs LED switched amber dome light.

now we just need these for the SnugTop Rebels. the stock one on those is junk.

 

So if one is to purchase a bd4 lets say. Does that one need to purchase a wiring kit and do a whole lot of work to get the rock lights to work

 

How are the brake lights the same price as the puddle pods? The puddle pods include a light and harness the brake lights don’t. Is this because they are still 3D printed?

 

Brakes include multiple 3rd party LED and a harness. I think all are injection molded now.

why does his site say leds are not included and a page or two back meso said he is working on a light package option to save us money? They are listed at $150 for just the housing that’s what I paid for functioning puddle lights. I understand including the lights would cost more and limit customization but why is there such a steep price for a plastic housing? It’s not priced proportionally to his other products.

 

No , there is no kit and you don’t need one anyway. Lots of good write ups on it. Just get some good butt to butt connectors, I like the heat gun activated solder ones. If you’re great at soldering, that’s an option too. Some swear by the pin removable connectors ( like oem), but that’s way too much of a pain

 

You need to read up paying skilled people for their time. When you call a plumber and they do 30 min of work and it’s 300 bucks, it’s because it took them years to get that knowledgeable and skilled. You’re not paying him for the $1 worth of plastic, you’re paying for his CAD design and general design ascetic.

 

Like I said not proportionally priced. Who said over priced? The puddle pods took the same time if not more time and include a $60 pair of vled puddle pods and wiring harness. There is a reason I have 9 meso mods on my truck.

 

He does not sell the quantity of these as he does the rest of his products. These are also All 3d printed hand sanded and painted. He has mention the amount of work that goes in to these burns him out. My guess is you are looking at close to the same man hours as wiring the puddle harness.

 

Thank you for a real answer. I was thinking he could have probably raised the cost of the puddle lights in comparison with what these sell for.

 

I’m shocked for what he can sell the puddles for! Honestly I think all his led products are worth double what he charges!

I have a KC5 and feel like it’s worth what I paid. I went with it cause the cyclones where Reasonable priced and they gave me a coupon code to make them better. I liked the Baja look better but they cost more and where as powerful.

I like the idea of his new hex 9 but I don’t really care for the aesthetics of it.

Compared to a complete kit with 2 housings and a wiring harness and a pair of $60 leds for the same cost. I was trying to figure out why he was pricing things the way he was. I was looking for an answer that you couldn’t or didn’t provide and someone else did get over it.

 

What's the time difference on r & d? I'm curious, since you know how much time it took. One is a "direct" model, the other is basically one off. How much time is a 3d scanner worth? How much time is modeling in fusion worth? How much time is a trip to the manufacturer and direct quality control worth? Just curious.
