Quick question, my outer holes are crooked when I screwed them in. I also aligned the KC v2 so the wire comes straight out of the light into the hole(to the side so the logos are crooked, idc about that). The lights themselves fit perfect. I thought I read about people slotting holes and assumed they were talking about the truck. Is the fix to just slot the outer holes a little? I’m siliconing them before install anyway so it really shouldn’t matter, right?

the covers on the V2s can be popped off and put back on so the logo is upright. they are a pain to get off though.

yes people are widening the bolt hole opening on the body of the truck.

It’s really hard to see in the picture but I meant the kc logo on the board itself. I was thinking if it was oval in any way it would need to be a certain positioning. But it was a long shot on that one.

ahhh yeah its stuck like that. I can't even see it on the diffused ones I have. The right bolt hold on the body is a little oblonged but it still needs to be widened a little

How much did you need to widen? A little or a lot? Gonna install mine when I get it back from being wired.

Think I’m going to install from the outside vs dropping the headliner. Thankful for these forum threads.

Anyone rocking the v2 cyclones leave the rubber covers on there (the piece that goes over the bolt)? I may try and find some hillman plugs that fit in the v2s vs the rubber grommets that they come with. Just a thought

It wasn’t a whole lot, but there isn’t enough room between the bolts at their furthest points. Since the hole is elongated on the right side, it made sense to elongate outward on the left side.

With the bolts/covers I can’t speak for v2, but I put a small rubber washer behind the KC to seal at the bolt as well as airgap for cooling (the heat vanes are on the back). I also used one under a washer on the front side. If I didn’t have the caps, I would have just painted the screw/washer satin black.

BTW, one of the oddest phenomenons I have had with these is the number of people that think they are cameras… sure, they do kind of look like security cameras… but really? Who am I to correct their assumptions.

thanks for the picture man. So to make sure I’m understanding you fully. You first filed the left hole a bit and then lined up the light without the clips inserted on the left and right. You aligned the bolt from the the light to the fully exposed cab holes to see how much more if any you had to file?

Bingo. You can see the curve to the left side of the left hole, where the bolt cut the paint, telling me how far I needed to go. When I first started to install, the assembly started to bow out, which told me the bolts/nut were too close together. That’s when I took it back apart and started looking at what needed to be trimmed. I’m sure every truck is somewhat different, but the same.

Are most folks relying only on the MESO o-ring gasket or adding additional silicone (etc)? I'd like to just rely on the o-ring as it looks like it should be adequate.

It is. I placed it in the channel and cut to size (if I had to) and then glued the ends together. Seam is/was at bottom off center.

Great photos: Wish we had a string to install the BD-4 Cam to help those with less electrical experience and know how- What system did you use for the camera - monitor interface? Thanks.

Not sure what @mutely did, but what I ended up doing on mine was to hook it up to Germes Lab anytime camera as a third camera. I installed the Germes Lab system as intended, and spliced the video feed from the front camera and the BD4 camera to a 5-pin relay that can be activated by a switch in the cab. That way, I can activate the anytime camera like normal from the "mode" button and swap between the front camera and the bed camera with a separate switch.

Hey guys are you grounding here on the light (KC5 version)? Sorry for the stupid question I’m semi retarded and just wanted to double check before installing this weekend.

also decided I’m just going to do the drill out the old light method vs dropping the headliner.

    Thanks Tacoma Peeps!

    A bunch..and no build thread!
I believe the harness plug has a common ground for the stock fixture and you simply use that to ground all the KC's.

I have 5 powers and 5 grounds and will separate the power for the brake light and chase light pods while combining the grounds.

To use MESO plug he doesn’t use the ground wire. He advises to ground behind the clips. I had someone wire it for me. Just wanted to double check the ground position.

Unfortunately, I was gifted the housing and it did not come with any hardware or the plug. I contacted @MESO to see if I can get those items and am waiting to hear back.
