Hey everyone and @mesojdm , you may wanna look at these suckers. They're caps that fit perfectly in the opening of the Cyclones and would finish it off nicely. We don't sell/resell them, but maybe one person can buy a set of 100 (or Meso for 1000 which would work for 200 total KC 3rd brake light housings) and distribute from there. Just wanted to pass along the info to you all to help with a super clean install!

    Thanks for the tip!
I’m actually including these snap grommets in the hardware kit. They fit pretty good( even a dab of silicone for extra security). I like that they are smooth and clean looking. Although the rubber grommet like you posted can be a better seal.

    Where you want to be
I got my KC brake housing yesterday. Lights are on the delivery truck till next week. I’m researching a plug n play option. But I have no idea what the OEM 3rd brake light plug looks like..

I’ve been trying but so far not luck. The stock connector is molded into the the brake light itself... so I’m not sure if there is even a plug.

I got the housing and lights today. A few initial thoughts to share:
    • Some assembly required
    • The leads on the KC lights are a bit short and you have to cut the connectors off to feed them through the housing. I think I’ll need to pick up some wire to build out a harness and solder the light sets and grounds together to create a sub harness.
    • One of the holes for the wires is on the opposite side so the light mounts upside down. The lense will need to be flipped for the KC logo to be on top and match the others.
    • The center three lights are threaded into the harness. It’s probably fine as is but I think I’m going to add nylock nuts.
    • I’ll add silicone or RTV to seal the holes for the wires.
    • I’m going try to use Positap connectors to connect to the factory harness so I don’t have to cut anything.
    • The seal on the back is molded and recessed into the housing. This is well executed and should eliminate all chance of leaks.
It might take me a few days to get it built out and installed. Thanks to @mesojdm for putting a fantastic and fun product out to market.

Thanks your your initial review! I tried to make it as user friendly as possible, and 99% of it can be assembled on your couch. You will have to flip one of the lens, due to the orientation of the wire exit in order to make it back into the cab.

Finally installed them! I hope I never need a replacement from BD lights since the design changed:angrygirl:

Looks dope! I don’t think you’ll have an issue as they are pretty well built. Sorry, but I had no way of Foreseeing the future that they were going to change the design:rolleyes:
