Figured I’d post up some pics of the KC version on my 3rd gen. I actually missed the release, but a local Pittsburgh guy scored one and decided not to install on his truck. So I was able to get my hands on one after all. Happy to answer questions on install if anyone is planning to tackle this soon.

 

I’ll be hitting you up this week most likely. USPS has been a nightmare trying to get my KC housing but it should be here this week.

 

Any chance of making the 5 light KC & BD versions with two of the positions angled down a bit like on the 4 light?
Obviously that would lock people into a specific light order.

Obviously I can’t make a ton of every single model...so what I might do is allow a certain number of preorders and then make them on a weekly batch basis.

Thanks for the offer. What kind of printer are you using? There are some pretty complex internal overhangs, and modeled threads in the design... so extrusion printers wouldn’t get the quality I would like. Plus I am not sure how PLA would handle the elements being outside.(ABS might be OK). although the jet fusion is expensive to print, I haven’t had any issues with them being on the outside of the truck(mines going on 2 years now)

 

These look great. I'd be happy to get any of these versions. I'm sure they will sell out quick.

I purchased 3rd gen KC version and after going trough car wash noticed it was leaking. Anyone else have this issue and can share a fix. Torque values on outer bolts and should I have sealed wire holes?

 

Out of all the ones I’ve installed and sold, I have never had one leak. I doubt it’s from the main seal. The one I use is a rubber o-ring(much better than the foam the toyota uses). If anything it’s from where the wires pass through the housing. I like to put a dab of clear silicone in the wire hole right before bolting the light in. Then another dab over the bolt head inside the light. As for TQ values, hand snug should be fine.

 

Ok thanks I'll try that out. Also wanted to share that I used the below paint on the white KC boards. Got a very this paint brush from micheals and hand painted them. Turned out very nice.
