Yeah I agree with meso here. It would have been much much easier to just destroy the oem one. If I ever had to do it over I would go with the second option.

 

Installing mine today, and thinking of going this route for sanity's sake. Anyone have the stock one dismantled? Wondering where to drill the plastic

STEP 1: use flat head, pry at lens gap




Step 2rill where hole is. Use ~1/2" bit. Just trying to remove some plastic so the stud will come loose.

pretty easy!
If you are REALLY careful, you can pry the OEM lens off in 1 piece, and re epoxy it back on to keep it in tact.

 

Damn. That looks so easy, hopefully when i do mine i can keep the oem one in one piece.

@mesojdm Just placed an order for the BD4-NMO.

Do you recommend using two as brake lights, or are the rock lights only really appropriate as bed/cargo lights?

Also, you mentioned that Baja Designs changed the size of the lights? Do I need to be careful of which version I purchase?

For sure run 2 whites(pointing down) and 2 reds(straight back)
You shouldn’t have to worry about the Baja size. They have discontinued and phased out the old ones, so as long as you buy from a reputable dealer they should all have the new ones to ship.

 

These need to sell out already. I'm broke ASF and they're just sitting there hauntingly calling my name.

Where is the 3rd KC camera?

 

It came down to placement. The camera only worked on certain models that had a spot in the middle(even number of lights)

 

Post your pics and result! I’d much rather not mess with the headliner also.

 

Is the BD-4-NMO-CAM going to be an option too?
