The paint began failing on my 2017 TRD OR at 34k miles, and though I was under the mileage for warranty, I was over the 36 months. The paint began flaking from my rear driver side door and I could flake more off with just my fingernail. I contacted my local dealer who started a case with corporate, and after 8 weeks they agreed to do a goodwill repair out of warranty. If you have this issue, I recommend starting a case with your local dealer.

yep! that's what I mean man, this has been an issue for years and hell, I'm not sure if it was an issue in the prior Gens. but fixing your own documented fuck up of a paint
job isn't goodwill, it's called doing the right thing.

At least its not as bad as the blue dodge neons... I remember every blue/purple dodge neon looked like it was gray blue camo patterns.

Agreed. They have been having this issue for some time but refuse to extend coverage for Tacomas. It is ridiculous they only approve the repair on a case by case basis. AND they won’t provide a rental for the time my vehicle is in the shop.

I had the same issue with my 17 sr5, the drivers fender is peeling under the hood where it bolts on. I put touch up paint to try and hold it, trading it in.

    None, Yet!!!
I’ve noticed a couple small maybe rock chips on mine. Really small, but I wouldn’t have thought it would chip that easy on my 2020 TRD Off Road. My som has a 13 TRD off road and the paint is “fading” off around his window’s really bad. I’ve heard there is recalls on other super white vehicles, just not the 2nd gen Tacoma’s or 3rd gen yet.
