I have a 2015 Tacoma TRD OR super white and just had a camper shell painted to match. I swear it is a different color however they went off my paint code toyota040. The quart of extra paint says alpine white however the painter is saying it is the same color. Any opinions?

Looks different to me, did they mix it or just used alpine white? If the latter, I'd say it's probably not the same colour. Is it clear coated? The clear coat will change how it appears. No real good advice to offer, though.

They mixed it. The can says alpine white however is the same paint code

Looks different to me. My eyes keep focusing where the cab meets the shell. It's not terrible, but it is noticeable

It’s tough to even picture because it looks more noticeable in person in my opinion

I'd start with "is it clear coated" because that can definitely change a color. Good luck!

He says he cleared over the base. I think we have the problem solved

Well, clear coat should be a good thing though. Your truck is clear coated too. I meant if he hadn't clear coated it, it would look different. I think the mix might be wrong then... Need some paint minded people to chime in.

Super white from Toyota does not have a clear coat on it. The clear is actually mixed with the white. OP this is probably why you have an issue.

you have clear but it’s mixed in with the white. A little different animal than a classic single stage paint job.
