Finally installed my Meso Puddle lights. Been sitting on them for a couple months. Install was pretty simple and they work great!

Finally uploading some pics from my last trip. Was a good time exploring more of Texas even though it was a little warm. The trip started bright and early on 9/16. I started a little later than I had hoped and immediately got stuck in the morning rush hour in NE Dallas. My plan to leave before traffic built up didn't happen so it wasn't a great start. Luckily it was not too bad once I made it to the toll lanes to get to the other side of FW even if it cost me $20-30 due to the late start.
    20190916_073903.jpg
The pups didnt mind the traffic and are enjoying the extra space with their beds from the platform I made after pulling the rear seats out.

After a long drive I met up with @n0troublen0fuss in Ft. Stockton to continue on to Terlingua Lodge for the first night.
    20190916_144054.jpg
The pups were now fighting for space on the center console. Teq is used to road trips with just him since this was only Blazes 2nd trip and first big trip.
    20190916_161350.jpg
After a few more hours we made it to Terlingua Lodge camp ground. I called on the drive to alert them that we would arrive after 5 to make sure they left the camp site paper work out for us. Nice little camp area and it was setting us up for the morning to go up Christmas Mountain which was our main goal.

I had been using a lead I made a year or more ago. I have left it in the bed fairly often and it had been wet many times. After Teq broke free a few times I had to change up how he would be hooked to the truck. The rope was snapping all over but luckily he never got far.
    20190917_074713.jpg
The next morning we had Christmas Mountain reserved so we grabbed the gate key and headed up to see the view. Nice easy drive and worth seeing at least once if your in the area.

We eventually made it to the top and enjoyed the views for a bit.

The pups already weren't fans of the heat at 11a, grabbing any shade they could. It was honestly a great temp to me and was going to get much warmer as the day went on.
    20190917_103149.jpg
    20190917_104116.jpg
We had to get the Key back by noon so it was time to make it back down and on to the next destination of Big Bend Ranch State Park!
On the way to the gate something caught my eye so on the way back I had to grab a pic.
    20190917_113104.jpg
After returning the key we headed back to pavement and made our way to BBRSP. We stopped at a welcome center for BBRSP and BBNP. It was great because we were able to reserve our remote camp site for the night in BBRSP. @n0troublen0fuss also wanted to go down to the Rio so the ranger told us what spots were good and dog friendly. We headed to the spot that @n0troublen0fuss picked and I was quickly reminded of an issue with me going down to the river. It was around 95° and with a 1.1 mile round trip I couldn't risk taking the dogs with direct sun. Double coated dogs can over heat way to easily and I am not one willing to risk them over heating. I wish I could have gone down or thought about that before we skipped some other locations we could have stopped right at the Rio. Had it been cooler the pups would have loved the short walk.
    20190917_143459.jpg
So close but yet so far.
    20190917_143536.jpg
We hit the road to make it to our campsite. I think the pups were happy we didn't go for a hike and we kept driving in the A/C.
    20190917_143656.jpg
We hit dirt to get into BBRSP and aired down to make the drive a little smoother and then headed straight for our site at Guale Mesa 2.
    20190917_153120.jpg
Immediately after turning off the main park road I saw what I had heard. BBRSP feels much more remote and less maintained than BBNP. Something I was rather happy about.

    20190917_163824.jpg
    20190917_164608.jpg
We made it to the Guale Mesa 2 campsite and the rangers recommendation did not disappoint. Almost full 360° views no one would be unhappy with!

    20190917_183347.jpg
With the truck close enough to leveled it was time to set up the tent, fix some dinner and enjoy the stars. One day I may learn how to take pics of the stars...
    20190918_074852.jpg
The next morning sunrise was nice and gave some great light for the views the campsite provides.
    20190918_074857.jpg
    20190918_081608.jpg
After we packed up we needed to head to the ranger station but the road we turned off of to get to the campsite continued on to an overlook and I had to go and see the views.

    20190918_102224.jpg
    20190918_102240.jpg
Next we made our way to the Ranger station so we could get our campsite for the night and we explored some. I didn't grab any pics of the campsite. It was ok but more so just an easy place to get to without bugs. The first site we went to had way to many bugs to be enjoyable.
    20190918_105944.jpg
    20190918_112715.jpg
Off in the distance you can see the Chiso's Mountains of BBNP getting rain.
    20190918_174015.jpg
    20190918_174020.jpg
I didnt get any pics of the camp for this night. It was our last night in BBRSP and we had storms to both sides of us. Somehow we only got a light drizzle for a few minutes. The next morning on the way out I grabbed some pics of this neat rig.
    20190919_093917.jpg

Farewell BBRSP it was a short visit but great and I will be back!
    20190919_102243.jpg
We were now headed to Seminole Canyon State Park to shorten the drive to the next destination. Not a lot of pics but here are couple of the campsite view.
It was a typical state park campground so nothing too special.

The last 2 nights of the trip we were planning on meeting up with others at Hidden Falls OHV Park for https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/35s-are-the-new-265s-hidden-falls-birthday-bash-9-20-22.620007/ with other TW and TTC members. Unfortunately weather had hit at @n0troublen0fuss house and parts of his neighborhood flooded so he headed home early. Luckily his house was safe but it had been a long week with a lot of miles traveled. I barely ran any trails at HF's but it was a good time.
Only pics I took were when we all met up for the traditional HF's group pic. I'll post a few more in the next post.

Sounds good. I'd been putting it off cause I knew it would take a while to post. I think that post took about an hour to write and upload all the pics. I also learned theres a 50 pic limit to a single post. Didnt realize I uploaded that many until the end.

It was a great trip. Only thing that would have made it better would have been if it was a little cooler.

The pics are nice but in person was so much better! I"m a little surprised I didnt take more pics at HF's but I also barely ran trails while I was there. My interest in OR parks has been dropping as its gotten to the point that I have to risk damage or breaking parts to be challenged and the whole reason I started going was only to get experience off road for the trips I want to take. I still have a good time when I do go even without driving many trails though. Hard to have a bad time when meeting up with great people!

Now for some truck news. Rear suspension rebuild is going to be going down! Parts are on order and I cant help but be excited. Getting some install quotes but I'm not in too much of a hurry since I dont know when the parts are going to arrive. Should all get installed before the end of the year.
I currently have the AAL for my Dakars. I bought them like a year ago and just havent installed them. Also some Archive Hammer Hangers I picked up from a for sale posting on TW a couple weeks ago.
Pic from sale thread, they are still boxed up. I should really open them sometime...
    Archive Hammer Hasngers.jpg
New shocks and relocate have been ordered. 12" kings with resi's and adjusters!
    Bamf.jpg
and finally Timbren bump stops w/U-bolt flip and extended brake lines for the back and matching lines for the front.
    Flip Bumps and brake lines.jpg
Heres to hoping I dont rub anywhere on the new suspension when installed! I'll figure out how to make it work one way or another.
Next suspension upgrade should be a set of Kings for the front to match the rear. Those probably wont get ordered until sometime next year though.
