so right now I’m at a crossroads, I currently have a 2000 3.4 5 speed Tacoma with a gray supercharger, 2.2 pulley, 7th injector, headers, cat back exhaust, 4.56 gears and 33’s with bumpers. I never was too worried about gas mileage and usually got 15-16 mpg, sometimes 17 mpg. My new truck is a 2004 Tacoma double cab 4x4 TRD, and is bone stock except for a magnaflow cat back exhaust. I’ve recently acquired a black TRD supercharger, and want to install it, but I’m also in the process of trying to buy a house and the wife wants me to sell it. If I installed it I wouldn’t do a 7th injector kit or underdrive pulley. What kind of fuel mileage are you guys seeing realistically from a s/c 3.4 in stock trim?

I live in Colorado along the front range, cause I know altitude will make a difference

With an automatic double cab, 33's, 4:56 gears. supercharger, 2.2 pulley, 7th injector, and a bunch of armor, I'm averaging 15-16 mpg.

I’m in Colorado too and typically I get 20-23mpg sometimes more with 5 speed, if I’m pushing the supercharger up the mountains less of course.

I have a supercharged 3.4l, 5speed Xtra cab...33" tires, bed rack and tent on the back and steel skids. I get about 15mpg on average.

When my truck was stock with the supercharger I was averaging 18mpg. Weight is what kills your mileage big time. You can manage good mpgs with the supercharger if youre easy on the skinny pedal, problem is that a supercharger and a light skinny pedal don't exactly go hand in hand lol.

Don't forget you need to buy premium 91 - 93 octane fuel when supercharged too. No getting around that

Also just because you don't think you want the 7th injector (or other fuel mods) doesn't mean you won't need them...Most supercharged 3.4ls need some additional fuel management whether it's the 7th injector, larger injectors, methanol injection, etc. The 3.4l is notorious for running lean even with the stock pulley, I still run the stock pulley and I had to install the 7th injector because I was running so lean. Ruined my catalytic converters and had to replace them...$$$

on that note, make sure you budget for an AFR gauge, make no mistake it is necessary to monitor your AFRs with a wideband sensor/gauge.

If I’m driving on a flat road at 65mph I get as much as 25mpg.
Supercharger is not really putting out any boost when cruising flat roads for me

I also live on the front range and before I installed the URD 7th injector kit I was getting 20.8 mpg with the black SC, according to my Ultra Gauge. My truck is also a 2000 Tacoma 3.4 with a 5-speed and I'm running 15-inch wheels with stock-sized tires (235mm wide).

I have a double cab 4x4 AT w/ the black supercharger 2.2 pulley and 0 fuel mods as of now. Surprisingly 0 pinging issues but I just ordered meth injection anyway.. I have 265/75/16 and I usually avg 15-18 mpg. No armor or extra weight but 247k motor. Id probably get a few more with the MT.

I have a 97 MT with gray supercharger, 2.2 pulley, and 7th. Used to get 15-17mpg with my 33x12.5s. Went back to 31x10.5s now I get about 20-21mpg. Also went back to stock bumper and skid.

SC with 7th injector. ICON 2.5 shocks and coil overs, SPC UCA, EMU Dakar rear springs. FrontRunner bed rack. ICOM IC7100 amateur transceiver
I just did an off road trip to the desert near Barstow, Ca. This included the MPG killing Cajon Pass. I got a respectable 17 MPG @ 70 MPH (w/o A/C).

    I'm running a SC w/ 7th injector. Nitto RidgeGrappler 265/75-16. A/T with stock 4.10 gears.
Had my trucked weighed with a full camp load and with driver weighs 5390 lbs. Plus my aerodynamics haven't been helped with all the stuff on the bed rack.

Same rims. Looks like from a quick google search the weight difference is 9 lbs per tire.
