Anyone been dyno’d with the supercharger? 0-60 times?

Only the late ones 01-03 or so. Wiring changes almost every year for the 3rz. I suppose if you repin everything then yes, but some have more features than others. Like mine has a way different evap system that doesn't have a pressure sensor. I also have three extra VSVs that other 3rzs don't.

So for a simple low boost set up, what are the recommended parts needed to play it safe? I know LCE makes a kit but doesn't include much other than the charger and necessities itself.

I installed a supercharger on my 3rz when it had about 220k miles. Here is what I learned. A compression test and valve check/adjustment are highly recommended to make sure your engine is "healthy". Replace your fuel filter with an oem one if it hasn't been replaced. If your fuel pump is original and you have a lot of miles replace it with a higher volume one. Your fuel pump can weaken overtime and when you add forced induction you need more fuel and an old, weak pump simply cannot fuel enough.

The stock ecu will do fine on the low boost kit. I found that the pink top injectors from the later model 3rz, paired with a walbro 190 fuel pump, urd 2.5" pulley, one step colder denso iridium, spark plugs, header, performance exhaust all work really well together. I would also highly recommend an air fuel ratio gauge so make sure it's running properly.

For a low boost setup I would at minimum check compression, check/adjust valves replace fuel filter, fuel pump if it has a lot of miles, spark plugs and make sure you have some sort of intake. A header and higher flowing exhaust will help as well.

A good rule of thumb to follow is for every 75-100 hp you add, you should go one step colder on the spark plug's heat range. Since the added horsepower brings added combustion chamber heat, the colder spark plug will remove that extra heat and help prevent detonation and or/pre-ignition

It doesn't, colder plugs just have a bigger isolator section to resist heat soak and preignition.

My biggest issue is my truck being automatic and not being able to keep up with the charger if I decide to pull the trigger for one... Don't regret getting my truck but regret not getting a 5-speed.

A lot of people will do a valve body upgrade as well as an aftermarket trans cooler.

I don't think even at 8psi that the 4cyl would have enough oomph to mess with the trans. It is the same trans behind the V6.

With that being said i've also read on a few threads that the 95.5-96 tacoma's ecu's don't do well with boost? Any 95.5-96 owners can prove that right or wrong? I considered doing a manual swap or v6 swap but did a lot of research on both and takes a lot of time, money, and patience(ironic because a supercharger is around a couple grand plus at the least lol).

That rule is for the V6, 95.5-97 4cyl ecus are fine with boost, but the later ones can handle more for sure. As it is I am running 6.5lbs just fine, ideally I'll be able to run 10 with just the addition of meth injection and my bigger injectors.

Haven't been keeping up with my threads :p lol but thanks for the reply's guys. Just dropped some mulah getting 5-speed swapped into my truck thanks to some great advice and threads from a few members here. Could've got me a low boost kit from LCE I should say :notsure: but loving my truck a lot more now that its a totally different animal but maybe sometime in the future I'll throw a supercharger in it lol :D
