Just curious what the consensus is about any additional value with a supercharger. ???

My truck is a nicely built 23. With 21k miles. SC has been on for about 3-5 K miles.

Trade in? Zero added value, maybe even decreased value.
Private sale? Maybe a couple grand at most

Depends on the buyer. For me, it would decrease the value.

Unless you can find that one specific buyer, you can expect a decease or at the very best, market price. Be prepared to find that buyer, remove and sell, or take a financial bath.

As much as I would enjoy a SC in the future, if I was in the market I’d look for a truck without one.

If it were me I’d pull it and sell
separately unless you are willing to wait for the right buyer.

Installing an aftermarket supercharger on a pickup truck seems similar to installing nitrous oxide system on a riding lawn mower. It’s funny but not practical.

At the same tlme, I do have an appreciation for people that put forced induction in sports cars.

That said, I think I would find a super charger a value add. 25% more horsepower is very decent upgrade if that is what you are looking for. Other upgrades (suspension lifts, tires, etc) are in the 7% range.

Yeah this is what I was kind of thinking. It’s similar to all the other modifications that we do to these trucks/money pits. It’s very buyer specific. I really wish I’d driven one before I installed one, but that’s nearly impossible to do. It’s fun to drive around, but I’m about to turn it over to my 16-year-old and I really don’t want him having a supercharged truck

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I’d pass on a truck I knew was supercharged or turbo’d. Too many issues that can occur and lower reliability.

Same. I will not touch a car with the aftermarket supercharger or turbocharger. They are a ticking time-bomb.

The majority of the population wouldn’t have it because they know it has been run hard and usually being sold because of issues.

    No additional value. IMHO

If I’m building a performance engine I start from the bottom up not the top down.

I had worries about my kids driving boosted stuff. While they have had collisions, it was not about the power. Just in-town crap. Heck, my oldest is having less issues with our turbo Subaru (our quickest) than she did with her previous Mazda 3 (it was our slowest).

Maybe see how they drive the Taco and potentially yank the S/C?

Like others, I would say that it does not add value. You'd get a more cash selling separately.

Bilstein 6112 front / 5100 rear (extended) shocks, Headstrong AAL, Firestone airbags, 4.88 gears, OME Carrier bearing drop kit, Aluminum 1/4" skids (engine to transfer). Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
Another vote for remove and sell. I'd guess you could get $3500 for it if the parts list is complete (assuming this is the Magnuson.)

I'd assume any truck with a super charger has been run hard and would pass unless it was from a person I knew personally. But if I had a the money, I'd love to get one for myself knowing that others would think the same.
