    Hello all,

This is my first post on these forums, but I've been reading them for years. I have a 2001 3.4L 5 speed with a TRD supercharger installed. I was on a roadtrip recently and the bearings in the tensioner arm pulley on the SC seized up. I was able to replace the pulley, but the belt had been damaged. I couldn't find one on the road, so I bought a replacement belt that would bypass the SC just in case and kept a close eye on the belt. Luckily, it got me home. But now I'm looking to replace it and it seems the part has been discontinued. Does anyone know where to get one of these belts? Or another belt that would work for it? Part number is PTR30 35040

Gates belt is the only one you should run, will last the longest without slipping issues

There’s another reason why that Gates belt was designed to be a supercharger belt. It has to do with its outside mass being very very low. The outside mass is the part of the belt that you see from above when it’s turning on the pulleys. Centrifugal force forces the belt up and off the grooves at high rpm, especially with the smaller higher boost pulleys where the turning resistance is high, such as the 2 inch one that I’m running on my T100 now from Pulley Boys. URD stopped selling the 2.00 pulley for the TrD 3.4L and 3rd Ava fourth gen Eaton M62 supercharger.Their pulley is carbon steel, and after seeing what these belts did to the tops of the grooves on my 2.10” aluminum URD pulley, so I think I’ll get. Hoping for better longevity with the steel pulley. HTH,
    Dave
