Supercharger break in?

    Just got the TRD S/C on my 2012 4.0L auto. I am a little disappointed as I can't seem to break traction and spin the tires on launch. I was wondering if there is a break in period for the S/C or if anyone had any tips on how to roast the tires a little with the S/C.

    I live in Utah at about 4,500ft elevation so that probably doesnt help either.

    Does the truck start to break traction, then stop being able to? As if it is losing power?

    I have read many comments on how it sometimes takes a while for the ECU to fully accept the new reflash

    Mine seemed to get more power after a thousand or so miles after install. But mine was also installed w/ only 800 miles on the ODO.

    I can break traction but not light 'em up. At least I haven't really tried after I initially broke traction. I've been able to power brake it at a stop. But since it's a truck and light in the rear to begin with, I was never really too impressed with either of those.

    I'm thinking it will get better w/ some miles as that is what most have stated after installing the supercharger.

    When I initially put the S/C on at 5500 feet I couldn't roll my big mud tires. You should be able to spin stock ones with a good brake boost no issues. Does the truck feel noticeably more powerful all the time? There is no "break-in" on the S/C.

    Not really, it just launches quickly but doesnt really lose traction at all. Why do you ask?

    I dont have stock tires, I have BFGs ATs at 265/65/18, maybe the altitude is killing me idk

    You need to turn off the traction control before you can "spin the tires"

    The pedal recall is mandatory. You truck will have it. If it senses a ~20 mph difference between the front and rear tires, it will stop you from giving it and more gas, by cutting the throttle.

    Try removing your ABS fuse. Then try a burn out again.

    How do you remove the ABS fuse, and are there any negative consequences of doing so?

    Just pull it out. Truck off of course. ABS light will come on. Turn truck off and re-install what ready. Light will go off.

    Isn't it dangerous to drive without abs? And where is the fuse found under the hood?

    Im just gonna say that the ABS in my pickup has gotten me into far more trouble than it coild ever get me out of. The cycle on these trucks is horrible.

    I disabled traction control, maybe it's just the altitude then.. do you have an automatic or manual?

    Auto, they were mud tires so there was less tire touching the ground.. only thing I could think of.

    And that was with the abs on? Could it be the altitude difference?

    Yeah I definitely feel the boost especially between 20-30 mph and 70 to 100 mph. But off the line it's not as noticeable
