And I wouldnt worry about the sides of the impeller area. As long as its not scored, it should be fine.

I can feel them with my fingers. I don't quite know how to gauge the depth but you can feel a definite scratch.

How smooth are the ends of the impellers?

Ends of the impellers have some surface scratches but nothing crazy. Itlooks like the impellers came with some sort of paint or coating and it looked like a piece of it was chipped off on the end of one of the impellers. I'll try to get better pictures of areas of confers tonight.

That coating is normal, and it does wear off...No biggie. Get the bearings replaced, and feel how smooth it rotates. You will feel it if its rubbing the sides of the housing. If you sand it down, your gonna loose the impeller seal.

Ok. Ya I was just gonna use some one million grit something and give it a smoothing. But if you say not to then I don't want to sacrifice the seal. I'll For sure get new bearings though

That's what I was thinking when he said that. I agree though, replace the bearings and see what's up. I'm sure it would be significantly better, if not good as new.

K complete tear down complete. Gonna go to the hobby shop on-base tuesday and clean this bad boy up. They also have a press so I am going to try to press out the bearings myself. Here are pics from the complete tear down.

Rear. Looks like EGR block off plate. To the left of that plate is a bolt I need to get to release the supercharger housing.
    IMG_0695_077001dd30115baf556c60f131ff4aaa5da86ffb.jpg

Here is the bottom rear of the supercharger and it shows the rear bolts.
    IMG_0696_3fc0b0e1c027f7462891ee312ecce901f677036e.jpg

What was under the EGR block off plate.

Seperating the housing from the rest of the charger assembly. I know a screwdriver looks kind of like the wrong tool to use to seperate it but it wasnt that difficult.
    IMG_0700_efe3b58d87b7e72cb9bafbaa1056a1b7fb70895b.jpg

And another view of the seperation. Near the back in the middle of the picture you can see a little itty bitty nut that I had to use needle nose pliers to get off... It was awful and I am dreading putting it back on.

SEPARATED! She's a dirty girl... Definitely needs a parts wash.

Some sort of stupid valve thing. I'm definately gonna toss it. J/k. I forgot what it is called but it works. I tested it.

I believe this is the bypass valve. It's dirty and needs to be cleaned thuroughly.

So hopefully everything will be here soon so I can fix her up! I need to get a pulley puller to get the pulley off the nose drive then find out how to press out the nose drive shaft so I can replace the bearings. So ya. I'll keep this updated if everyone wants. Let me know what you think and any tips and tricks you guys know about this type of stuff cause I'm not gonna lie, all this is new to me and I have never ever taken apart nor worked on any type of forced induction system. So here goes nothing.

How many miles are on the supercharger and did you take it offroad much? I admire your courage taking it apart would love to see pics of the install and hear how it works for you.

The supercharger did not come with my truck. I bought it from someone but they do not know the miles nor if it was offroaded much. Here's what I think happened. He got it from a shop along with a bunch of other parts. What I think happened is that the engine this supercharger came off blew up because of all the crap that is in this charger. I'm just guessing. And I have no idea how many miles are on it. So I'm gonna get a rebuild kit and make it fresh. I dont see any problems putting it back together. It really wasnt that hard. Hopefully I'll find out where all the bolts go that actually mate it to the engine. I have all the hard ware but not sure exactly where each piece goes. I do have the supercharger installation instructions so that will make this go easier. I'll keep this thread updated as much as I can.
