if you take it to the dealership and have them do it then it sould still be covered under warranty if somebody else does it then it will void all kinds of stuff.. from what ive heard its a good investment but a bit overpriced..

thats what i done i went up there and talked to a rep and one of the service guys and they can order the entire kit and install it.. if you have a standard transmission you should be fine im not entirely sure about the second gen trucks but with mine i will have to get a built valvebody and a new torque converter.. from level 10 transmissions

NO! The dealer markup on the S/C is nasty. They will charge you 6 or 8 hours for install plus 1 or 2 hours just to be conservative. Buy the S/C yourself and save a grand or more. Just call the dealership and make sure they'll do the install for a fixed price before you order the blower. You can also have the unit shipped to the dealership just to save you the hassle.

Always working on the stereo, painted the front skid plate black to match the truck, debadged , toy tech ultimate lift kit, light racing UCAs, ARB bumper Looking into a supercharger and new exhaust.
It voiding the warranty is BS. The TRD supercharger, if installed by the dealership, falls under the remaining warranty of the drive train. If installed by someone else, the supercharger itself is warrantied for 12 months / 12000 miles. The rest of the vehicle's warranty is unaffected.

I would install it yourself. The instructions are very, very good and the items/kit/supercharger are packaged and labeled in such a way that fits with the instruction list.

For instance, it will say open box 2, take out bolt pouch B, use 8 and 10 mm wrench, etc, etc.

You will need the dealer to flash your PCM with the supercharger software, takes them about 10 minutes to do this.

You will not lose your supercharger warranty, however if the dealer installs it, they cover the supercharger under the truck warranty (in my case I was already past the mileage, so it was not a big deal).

Saved at least $600-800 on install, plus, I know how things are installed and I made sure to take my time and get all the wiring, plumbing the way I want it. The dealer will get that job done as fast as it can, may not be up to your standards when it comes to keeping the engine bay tidy.

    Your mileage may vary.

How far away are you from URD in Maryland? I would at least check them out to see what they might do for you.

I've installed 3 superchargers including my own. Its very easy to do as long as you have the proper tools. Once installed drive it to the dealer for the reflash.

People always get the warranty information wrong for some reason. Its very clear on TRD's website.

Its 12months or 12,000 miles if you install it. Or if toyota installs it its covered under the 5yr/60,000 miles. Installing it yourself doesn't void any warranty on the truck as long as the s/c didn't cause the problem thats in question.

Yes, $100 and change, if I remember correctly.

Takes them about 10 minutes, but they will ask for the car for 1/2 the day.
