Hey throwing it out to see if anyone has problems with this. I just put a TRD first gen (grey) supercharger and my 3.4 TRD edition taco. About two weeks of driving the clutch starts to slip pretty bad in fourth and fifth under full throttle above 2k when the engine starts to make power. I don't see how a clutch could go bad this quick the truck has less than 50k on the whole thing. anyone have any ideas let me know.

a clutch is a mechanical piece of gear that can go bad whenever its time, however most do not, some do. Also adding the additional stress of a S/C can decrease its life permitting it has a manufacturers defect as well. If it slips it slips, bite the bullet and pick up a nice replacement to avoid any further troubles.

on a side note, how does the s/c perform compared to stock and whats your fuel mileage looking like.

It pulls like a mofo and gets about 16mpg honest thats average for me I dont goose it all the time but get into it every now and then. The torque gain is really noticeable it starts at about 1.5k and keeps going. It does ping at 1.5k-2k so I cant get into it hard between that, but cruzing is fine for those rpm's besides that I cant complain.

whenever you do an upgrade like a supercharger/turbocharger you should definatly do a clutch with a higher clamp load(act, exedy, etc) and reflash your ecu. if its pinging then i would get the ecu reflashed asap or your next post will be wtb: 3.4L tacoma motor. :D

I have gone through plenty of clutches within the last couple years. My GTO is on its 7th within 5 years and 58K miles. More power is more stressfull on everything but sure is addictive. Looks like the Stage 3 clutch for the taco is a good clutch. I have been looking into that for mine once mine finally goes.
