    This is what my supercharger oil looks like at 40,000 miles and why it’s better to change it sooner then later.
    Oil was BLACK and smelled horrible!!!
    Inside was coated with a black caked on coating.

    I needed a soft brass wire brush to remove most of the black deposits.

    Waiting till 100,000 would be ridiculous

    If you take the snout off you can do a deep cleaning, you can but a plastic bag around the snout and drain everything before you remove the snout.

    Are you also able to use redline synthetic 75w90 in the snout? Saw it mentioned a few times but not sure if worth it. Also is getting the case coated worth it for sealing?

    I don’t know about redline,
    because these supercharger have no inter cooler anything that can be done
    to help reduce the heat soaking in summer is a good thing. So yes

    I've never heard any mention of using 75w90 in the supercharger snout...I would stick with the regular supercharger oil that it calls for. I get mine from the local Chevy dealership, they usually have a few bottles of it in stock at their parts dept.

    Saw it mentioned on a few really old posts on customtacos so I figured that I should at least ask to clear my questions in my head.

    So having the case and rotors coated is helpful in the summer?

    It’s adding some extra protection, it should be done if you have the money

    For anyone still following this post. Got the oil changed out this morning. Took about 3 hours. The worst part about it was the timing belt cover being in the way. After I removed the front part of the SC I trimmed up the cover so it wouldn't be a issue later on. The oil smelled horrible, i'm guessing it was original.

    Did you have a threaded hole drilled in the snout to fill it from the top?

    Also make sure the rubber coupling goes on in the right holes as shown in this photo there’s a right way and a wrong way,

    Mine doesn't have the hole on top. I tried sticking a tube up the fill hole to suck the old oil out but it didn't work. And yes, I noticed the orientation of the coupler when I took it off the first time and made sure I reassembled it correctly when putting things back together. If I could have sucked most of the oil out of that hole I probably wouldn't have and to pull everything apart to get the old oil out. Kind of bad design on their part.

    Yup, well next time just take the snout to a machine shop when you have it off and they can tap a butt screw for probably 45.00 and oil changes will take 5 minutes
