Ok, but does anyone know why?

I have two FJ cruiser that are super charged, and I love them. Is the engine not capable, is the market not there?

It's the software, only one person (that I know of) has cracked the Toyota ECU and decoded their programing. He has a twin turbo system in development currently.

Your FJs are either both older than 2010MY or you got them SCed in the last year or so.

It took 4 or 5 years before anyone developed a working supercharger for the dual VVTI 1GR (meaning there were maybe 2 in the Wild) and closer to 7 for them to hit market. The single VVTI 1GRs benefited from Toyota making TRD superchargers available.

Our 3.5L is *somewhat* new and it will take some time before FI options become available. Notably, OVtune is working on a twin turbo set up and Magnuson and/or URD tends to get to it much much later.

Kind of true. The issue of “cracking” our ECUs was solved by a few folks but for the Taco specifically, OV likely was the first. The 5th gen 4Runners had a similar issue but URD and Magnuson eventually did those prior to the 3rd gen taco coming out.
