when i bought my TX, the guy in the service department had one on his tacoma. told me he wished he had never done it.

 

What kind of turbo or s/c did that person have? Did he say why he wish he hadn't installed it?

I love the crap out of my front mount turbo kit. For that matter, so does everyone that has driven or taken a ride in my truck.

When you have all of the components together, and you tuning is down flawlessly, the way the truck feels is simply amazing!

 

he had the toyota factory option supercharger and k and n cai. i figured he probably didnt have it tuned correctly as well but he said it was more trouble than it was worth

 

Who can say what he had or hadn't done? What knowledge he had on the components? If he had ever been on a forum to ask for help?

I would stay away from just that one guy's opinion. Get more.

 

I was thinking about equiping it when i bought mine and he oerheard the discussion. he is a toyota service tech and he said it was more trouble than it was worth and he said "I know because I have one on my 4.0 tacoma"

 

Most likely due to the simple fact of this. The TRD reflash for the '09 plus sucks just as bad as it did on the earlier models. However, due to the ecu plugs being nearly proprietary, it makes it very hard to produce an aftermarket ecu for the '09 plus models. Thus, certain bugs may exist in the reflash, causing a pissed off owner.....

 

I have a 2010 and LOVE IT.. I have not had a single problem other than pre-mature wear of the S/C belt which is normal when doing high speed offroading.

I am only at 25K and havent had any issues at all. Everyone I know that has it loves it.

The one down side right now is that the 09+ ecu plug is proprietary as said above so there is no aftermarket tuner avaliable until toyota releases the molds. As soon as the do URD will be on it like white on rice.
