I figured I'd toss this out and see if anyone else has had this issue. Last night when the wife came home she mentioned "somethings wrong with your truck". So I went out and sure enough there was a strange sound coming from the front end. It sounded like a pump or electric fan was running and the sound was coming from right in front by the SC intercooler or the fan shroud. It wasn't coming from the engine itself. I'd been out earlier in the day but didn't hear the sound when I came home. If it had been going since I last ran the truck it ran like that for about 3-4 hours.

I started the engine and couldn't hear the sound over the engine so I turned it back off, and the sound stopped. Did that a couple of more times and I could hear the sound start up before the engine cranked and right after it died, but it always stopped shortly afterwards. I also thought I could hear the sound of liquid gurgling at one point which is what makes me think this is related to the intercooler somehow.

I don't really know how all this works and I thought the intercooler stuff worked off the same pulley system as the SC. If the intercooler has an electrical pump then this makes more sense to me regarding how it could "stay on" when the truck is turned off. Maybe I'm completely off base and should take it in to the dealer, but wanted to see what people here thought first. Thanks for the help and ideas.

The intercooler pump is turned on via an add a fuse coming from the fuel pump fuse. The fuel pump cycles every few hours to check that the tank is holding pressure properly for emissions compliance. Everytime the fuel pump cycles, the intercooler pops on too. It only happens for a couple of minutes and then everything shuts back down.

In other words, it's completely normal.

Mine come on every once in a while also. As long as it shuts off OP you are set. It is weird though. Working on truck and then all of a sudden it kicks on. It gets me every time.
