Yesterday I bought a 2012 Tacoma that has a TRD supercharger on it. I am not a huge fan of the whine and I don’t need the power. Does the supercharger shorten the life of the engine? What stock parts other then the upper intake are needed to take it back to stock? Is there a market to sell a used supercharger? I am not for sure going to take it off just looking for information.
    Thanks

Willing to bet there are multiple folks who would play Mod Swap day with you. Set em up side by side and swap stock for SC.

Guarantee you someone will swap you their OEM stuff for your blower and it can all be done in your driveway in 1 day, you could even charge money and someone would do it

If you do decide to swap it. Do not take out the orange fuel injectors in your truck. Because of the supercharger tune, you have to keep the orange bigger injectors for the truck to run right.

    1. No, the life of the engine is not diminished unless you do some really dumb stuff.

    2. Buy new stock injectors and a new ECU from eBay. The injectors that are in there now are larger to meet the demands of the s/c, and (assuming you sell the s/c) whoever buys the supercharger is going to want and need the injectors. The ECU is so that you can take it to the dealership to have it flashed with the stock programming. Again, whoever buys that s/c from you is going to want/need that TRD-tuned ECU.

    3. There is a market for used superchargers. You will command a better price if you have the TRD injectors and TRD-tuned ECU to accompany the s/c.

I understand the noise can be a bit noticable, but there is a way to quiet it down some and to be honest, I have never seen someone NOT want the supercharger on their Tacoma or regret having it. The power added by the supercharger is what the Tacoma should have come standard from the factory IMO. To each their own though.
