The safest side of things would be to not supercharge it. Would it be OK in the long run? Maybe. There is a guy on here with 500k on a supercharged 3.4L, and he's running the high boost pulley.
If you're going to do it, do it right though. The engine should be fully up to date on maintenance items and have no pre-existing issues. You will want to consider fuel mods and a controller, such as the URD 7th injector setup. Proper tuning will be essential to the longevity of your engine.

    Basically this^^^^

Everything up to date and don't take any shortcuts with parts and things should go fine. But as always with cars/engines, anything is possible but he V6 is a great motor and last a long time. If the motor has any flaws the boost will expose it much quicker.

You'll be fine as long at your fuel system is nice and clean. With that high of miles you should put a new fuel filter in as well as looking to either have your injectors cleaned and flow tested or just buy new injectors. This will make a huge difference in your spray pattern and fueling efficiency.

Do it but do it right as suggested. I've been running mine since I bought it last year without the 7th injector kit but the pinging under moderate to high boost has driven me mad. I ordered the 7th injector kit today actually, should have it on in the next few weeks if all goes according to plan. Boost 'aint cheap that's for sure.

Turbo'd 3 5vz at 250k+ and only sold when I got bored of them. No real long term testing though. I've bent or broken rods in 2 motors (no fuel management except methanol injection) and torn them apart and observed perfect rod bearings and crosshatching in cylinder walls. I wouldn't be afraid to boost it.

I honestly wouldn't recommend the 7th injector. Hate to bash on URD since they are a great company overall but that product is a pretty haphazard and expensive way to fix the issues IMO.

I agree with this. I had a 7th on a S/C 3.4 I had a few years back and it wasn't all that great and was a pain to tune since you have to upload the changes each time instead of seeing live changes. If I was to tune to more boost, I'd use a FIC or Megasquirt and either the stock or slightly larger than stock injectors.

    AEM F/IC $380 and 440-550cc/min injectors $250. Profit.

Going along with this, I'm going to be throwing a s/c on my 01 with 475k this summer. Engine is totally fine, no sign of wear at all. My only concern is blowing out a head gasket. I'll do a compression check before putting it on but would it be a good idea to do HG before installing the S/C? Or any other pm?
Also if you guys don't think the 7th injector is worth it, would y'all recommend just larger injectors and an aftermarket ecu?
