I got interested in the TRD supercharger again. It's been a long time since I've considered it, so I started looking into it. And damnit if I didn't see that Toyota discontinued it.
I confirmed it by calling my dealer. Yep, gone.

I read that there is still lots of available stock out there with the various sellers. Installing can of course also be done by anyone with the right tools and know-how (not me). So that leaves flashing the pjuter.

Has anyone had one installed and/or flashed after Toyota officially stopped selling them last year? Could I just ask my dealership to reflash the unit after the install is done elsewhere?
I'm really kinda bummed out. Btw, my baby is a 2010.

TRD superchargers discontinued awhile now. All TRD got snatched up. A few months ago one of the last ones sold for 7k. Magnuson is now making them and got CARB approval. 5k price tag. You just missed a group buy

Without stealing the OP's thunder can I piggyback a question in...

Which is the better Product? TRD Supercharger VS Magnuson Supercharger?

"Dollar for Dollar" which provides more "reliable" power?

Even thought the TRD is discontinued, I have seen a few kits pop up used for near new pricing too... Not sure I'd pay $5k for used unit when for not much more, a new one can be had with piece of mind.

Same thing. Magnuson was the manufacturer of the TRD units. Only difference is the branding.

    Thanks for that!

I should have searched a bit more before asking this question. I typed in "Magnuson VS TRD" and the group buy thread popped up within the first 10 hits stating the same thing.

But doesn't the TRD casting give it more HP?

    Kidding...

Thanks for the responses. I don't have $5k for this side project. I was hoping to pick up the hardware at a discount now that it is/was discontinued, and just have to worry about labor.
