My experience is somewhat different than RacerP's. I'm VERY HAPPY with my S/C. :D

I'm not familiar, however, with a "4th Generation" TRD S/C for 1st Gen Tacomas. (I THOUGHT the "2nd Generation" TRD I have was the latest model available.)

To get the best and safest performance from the S/C, fuel system upgrades (e.g., URD's 7th Injector Kit) are recommended. That said, I haven't yet prioritized the funds required to upgrade mine and my truck is still running strong. I believe the key is how you drive your truck. Running it flat-out at high-RPM is the recipe for trouble, since you can overwhelm the fuel system's ability to deliver fuel to the cylinders. This can cause extreme lean fuel mixtures, knock/ping, dangerously high temps, pre-detonation, etc., resulting in serious/permanent damage to your engine.

Bottom line: You CAN run the S/C without a 7th Injector, but you should exercise some care while doing so to prevent any regrets...

I ran my supercharger with that K&N and exhaust for a few years without the URD 7th injector. Never had any problems. But I would still recomend getting a 7th injector kit as soon as funds allow, Its worth the peace of mind and you get more performance also, double win.
