Ok, I just reserved my first Tacoma, a 2017 TRD Pro.

What superchargers work best for Tacomas? I haven't found any for the 2017 yet but I'm sure they will become available. What manufacturers are worth watching and why?

...I haven't heard of anyone working on making a supercharger for them yet.

    Maybe URD will though

Welcome to TW! If you want a supercharger you should be looking at a 2nd gen, where we have both factory (Magnuson) and aftermarket (URD) superchargers. The 3.5 atkinson cycle makes it more difficult for the 3rd gen. Haven't heard of anyone working on one.

I think right now the only way you'd get boost in any reasonable amount of time is to go with a custom turbo setup. I haven't seen any info on either TRD or URD releasing a Supercharger for the 3.5.
@Gadget@URD is the man who would know. He designs & builds them.
    Unfortunately he's rarely on TW.
    Perhaps give them a call?

    Thank you for the feedback.

I've already committed to the 2017 TRD Pro. I'm not in any rush to add boost. I'm not opposed to the turbo option either. To be honest, I've run turbo set ups on other vehicles I've owned but have never had a supercharged vehicle.

I guess I'll continue waiting to see what becomes available in the future. Until then, will duct tape work to install that Husqvarna to the 3.5L??

Your gonna need some silicone or some flex seal.

I have one. Only gained a few more RWHP, but more importantly all my tranny shifting issues are gone.

I'll take your $20. Current truck is an 07 Ram 3500 Megacab 5.9L with Banks Big Hoss Bundle and PPE Tuner. Recently sold my 1997 TJ. Ex wife kept the 2013 Land Cruiser (too fancy for me anyway).

All were bought new and taken care of. I've bought new every 10 years. Looking at what's out there for 2017, the Tacoma TRD Pro is my pick.

Read that the factory tunes on the 3.5 engines are pretty damn hard to adjust.

Like if you try to adjust it a smidgen the ECU goes bananas and refuses to start the engine or something. Ionno, might be talking out me bum.

You're probably gonna have to wait a bit for aftermarket superchargers to appear.

    Still waiting for it
There's no reservation process. Go read how dealer allocations work in the "who's waiting" thread, and how some dealers are issuing deposit refunds because they know they're not getting any more Pros.
Worry about assuring you get a truck before you worry about finding something that doesn't exist for it...

Oooooh I like that sound of that BBH Bundle... sounds like horsepower ... whats the butt dyno telling ya?

Looking for performance from the 3.5L Toyota engine? ... look at what Lexus tuners are doing with them... nothing out yet for a pickup truck tho... there's a lot of room for turbo plumbing and inter-coolers for sure they thought of it... just don't see it happening yet.
