I was told early next year when I inquired around it through an authorized dealer a few weeks ago.

Skip the superchargers... stuff the 5.7-liter from a wrecked Tundra in there computer and all. 381 hp, 401 lb/ft.

On second thought... better get the whole truck or you will break the entire Taco driveline with that much scoot.

I remember they did that on the 2nd gen and shoehorned the V8 into that taco, so sexy

And forget getting any gas mileage. I heard the best Tundras' give is 11 ~ 13 mpg's in ideal driving conditions.

That color is amazing. I really hope Toyota will go with the green from the FJ on the 2019 TRD Pro. With the black accents, that would look awesome.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
    what other thread?

This one got the older 4.7L V8 (2UZ-FE) and it's a much easier swap because that engine shares the transmission with the automatic V6 Gen 2 Tacos and they also use this motor in the 03-09 4Runner which is very similar to the Tacoma in many ways

Probably just used a frame from a standard cab long box truck then swaped a access cab and short box onto it.

This. Much easier to swap the engine when the body is off anyway. But - V8 rumble aside - Much easier to just supercharge the 4.0 and make more power. I would have liked to see somebody put the newer 4.6L V8 & trans because they still share the dimensions of the older models but make way more power and way more efficiently
