Nope. It just matters that it’s not a third gen. No SC for you.

“Just spoke with a Magnuson sales rep. They are finishing up a product for the 4Runner and are starting work on the 3.5 3rd Gen product. I asked for a vague timeline of product availability and she told me it could be as soon as 4th quarter of 2017 or as late as 1st quarter of 2018. “

Well that's interesting. The best I've heard of was 14. Was yours the 5.7?

yikes. didn't notice that. That was a keeper. What happened?
A Tundra Long bed would be ideal for me now.
I backed off because of the gas mileage.
I heard the next gen Tundra's (2019s i believe) are completely new from the ground up.

I had a Double Cab standard bed, the in town mileage was dismal but on the highway it purred right along. And yeah, I've heard the same. Toyota generally works in 10 year average increments on its SUV and truck chassis's and with the 2nd gens being 11 years old it stands to reason that the next gens are around the corner.

That's the rumor anyways, going by Toyota's update on the Tacoma for 2016 it stands to reason that the rumors might be true. MIGHT be anyways...

    Hmmmmm.

    Hallelujah finally!

I was pulling the trigger on a 17 Tundra Pro next month.

But if 19 is new, I don’t want to the old dog

The V8 idea will net the same weight likely as the Supercharger and all of it's plumbing. The V8 would also get better mileage in a Tacoma then it would in a Tundra simply because it weights much less, it would be faster everywhere assuming you could put the power down. Then you would have to look into could the stock transmission handle it, likely not and then there is more cost.

Or OV 91 tune TRD Intake/Exhaust call it a day for about 2k. Probably add about 12 peak Horsepower 25-28 throughout the RPM curve better throttle response/sound/shifting and overall quality of life for daily driving.
