Hello TW. It has been a long time since I've posted on the forum.

Found a good deal on a supercharging kit.

I have a 2007 v6 tacoma with 100k miles. Babied my truck and all preventative maintenance has been done.

What are all yall thoughts on supercharging a "high mileage" tacoma?

Do it. If not, send me the info and I'll buy it. :D

Haha oh I'm definitely picking it up!

Only thing I'm worried about is my tranny down the road. The engine itself has no issues.

I want to keep my truck but the lack of power kills me. If I did SC it is love to get another 100k out of it

    Wow nice video!!!

Why wouldn't you do it again?
    I'm just curious

Hmm that's surprising. I mean a ~70hp gain seems promising.

The custom turbo kits I've seen are gnarly. If I had an Lowered x runner id totally bite the bullet on that idea

10k holy crap! I spent less building my duramax tranny and getting a bigger turbo! that's a lot to spend on a tacoma right there.

I would love to drive in a SC Tacoma. Sadly most people where I live just keep their toyotas stock.

There is a company out of Australia that has a turbo kit for the 2.7 for about 5k. Idk how much different it would be for the 4.0 but might be worth looking into

For the ones talking about Turbo's, you might want to look into STS Turbo's out of Salt Lake City.

The problem I've seen with the turbo kits is they mount under the truck and would get destroyed when you go off road. I'd love to find one that mounts under the hood, maybe it's time to do an LS swap and drop a 70mm on it :)

I do mostly high speed desert and everything under my truck gets sand blasted, I couldn't imagine an underbody turbo holding up long term

I wonder how much boost these 4.0 can safely take?

Don't I remember you saying you also installed bigger tires between the two runs? And more weight? Done any work to the sluggish trans?

You may of had tire spin, that would drop your time and mph

You ran the quarter with 4wd on? That would rob so much power

I understand your logic thinking that the drive shafts and axels are already turning in 2wd drive however, when you are applying force to all of them and it dissipates the torque dramatically.

You definitely need to do it in 2wd, just air down the rear tires and get them hot from a good burnout, you will see a much better time and MPH. If you're still spinning at the launch then add a few sand bags in the rear of the truck
