So I had ordered the Mid Travel Suspension Stage 4 Fox kit with adjusters from Accutune back in December. Just like everything else in the world, backordered. Finally got it all in. It included the following:

    -Front Coilovers: Fox 2.5 DSC
    -Front UCA: Icon Delta Joint
    -Rear Shocks: Fox 2.5 DSC
    -Rear Springs: Icon RXT Pack
-Rear U-Bolt: Archive Garage Flip with 2.7″ Super Bumps

I've got roughly 700 extra pounds with Front & rear bumper, swingout tire carrier, full RCI steel skids & sliders, so I had it tuned by Accutune for that weight. They were awesome to work with by the way. I'm pleasantly surprised when companies actually answer their phone and communicate with their customers these days. Fantastic customer service.

For installation I wasn't comfortable tackling it on my own since I had zero experience with suspension installs. Also wanted to do the ECGS bushing. Called around to a few shops and got some eye watering quotes, but thanks to the awesomeness of this forum, found out about Dave. Reached out and he quoted me a great price. We also agreed that I would help with the install, which was cool so I actually learn the ins and outs of it all.

I made the drive to Long Beach and dropped off my truck Sunday night. We got the bushing done that night, and then worked all day on Monday getting the kit installed. Ran into a few issues along the way that required calls to Accutune, but we got it all in.

I upgraded from the stock OR Bilstein shocks with a spacer lift. HOLY SHIT what a difference. Feels like a new truck. Seriously. We went with stage 2 on the Icon Leaf pack and it was the perfect choice. I took it out last night on a local trail and its crazy how much better it handles at speed. Now gotta figure out the nuances of the DSC adjustments.

Anyhow I can highly recommend Dave for any of your Tacoma needs. All around great guy and very reasonable rates. Some pics right after the install (had to take these right away as it will never be this clean again):

Looks great! I’ve been looking at that same kit for a few months now, not totally sure if I want to invest that much. Especially living in the mid west, I feel like it wouldn’t get used enough. I want to move west but who knows when that will happen.

But looks great and it’s nice to hear some excellent feedback!

Yea its a hefty investment no doubt. I was blessed in that I had a good year work wise in 20 so decided to treat myself. I had to do something, I've been purposefully avoiding a lot of trails just out of fear of jacking things up with the previous spacer lift I had. I've bottomed out a few times and its ugly. Plus it rode like absolute dogshit in bumpy trails. Looking forward to going on some upcoming rides in the local Socal forum!

Nice... Yea we struggled a bit with what stage to go with. Go too much and the ride can get stiff. I really did not want to have to pull out the leafs once I got home and change it up. Stage 2 ended up being perfect with the swingout carrier w/ spare & 2 full jerry cans. Once I pulled that off, it did get stiffer but manageable.

I also initially called Accutune about installing everything, but they were a month wait, plus they were in the process of moving their shop to SD

Man you don't beat around the bush lol

Pretty much this + install https://accutuneoffroad.com/product/05-tacoma-mid-travel-suspension-kit-stage-4a-fox/

Certainly not the cheapest route but I wanted (what I thought) was the best for my application. I get that it can probably be pieced together cheaper elsewhere but I was willing to pay a premium for the Accutune custom valving, and also their experience with these specific components working together as a 'system'. I really struggled with paying extra for DSC. I ultimately decided to spring for it because I'm changing weight all the time by removing the rear swing out, and wanted adjustability for different terrain. Also much easier to buy them up front rather than retrofitting later. Admittedly I'm not there yet with the knowledge and experience on adjusting them, but I'll get there. Need to spend a day out in the desert and play around with the different settings. Right now they are at the softest settings and felt pretty good when I went out at night. Have to experiment with high speed runs over bumps and such.

I have a lot more respect now for the long travel dudes and what they have to go through to get it up and running.

I have a very similar setup. Same shocks but different upper control arm. Mine was ordered straight from FOX when new. Rides great and almost 36k in 2 years. Takes good weight in rear also!

Very cool - how often do you adjust them? Any lessons learned after having them that long?

What did you use for the mud/dust rubber flap covers?

Awesome! Thank man. The stock ones are hot garbage. Yours caught my eye right away.

Ha no problem. Same exact thing for me, I noticed them in another thread and asked about them. This site has cost me so much money, constantly seeing things that I HAVE to buy lol
