Ok community. I'm interested in how many of you are superstitious of certain things? You know, black cats crossing your path, broken mirrors, ouija boards. It is Friday the 13th ya know? I mean Tacomaworld on a Friday the 13th? What's the worst that can happen?

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

I attempted to go to a psychic fair once but it was cancelled due to unforeseen events.

Microwave times must be even numbers. That’s just science that can’t be disputed. Only a monster would heat something for 39 seconds.

    100% agree with this.

Last time I had work done on my truck at my shop, the front desk guy was telling me how the sound volume on the car radio also always has to be set to an even number. I also agreed with that.

I only use a microwave one way. 1 minute on high. Needs more time? Another minute on high. Less buttons to push.

Totally. If you listen to something on 17, just give your license back and get a 10 speed Huffy.

The corollary being, if you say "it'll be fine, we're just going X distance", it probably won't be fine.

I heat things for exactly 59 seconds. The ding is for patient people and those who never had roommates and 3am munchies.

On a slightly different subject?such a pet peeve when someone takes their food out of the microwave with time still left and doesn't cancel it. Like c'mon people! I don't need to cancel your time! It should be a blank slate for the next user. For me to push one button. Ok side rant over.:annoyed:

Especially when they leave it on a time that could be an actual time and then you think you’re looking at the clock and it messes up your whole day because you think it’s 1:39 when it’s actually like 2:15 or something.

I work in a lab. I have two rules in my lab. Do not walk away from any analytical instrument without cleaning and zeroing it, and don't set hot crucibles on the countertop. We do have a microwave; I pretend it doesn't exist. It's the one thing that doesn't get cleaned and zeroed. And because of that, I won't use it.
