Went out to Butcher, started good. Hit all the twisted stuff testin out the clearnace with the rear bumper, playin with the locker anytime mod, etc. Got to devils playground and did one of the climbs (one over to the left of the middle rutted, step one) climbed it easily. then, while up top of that ridge, saw a whole group of Jeep guys. Solid axle four door rubicon, wranglers, etc.. turned right to go back down, realized it was the really stepped, and rutted one. already had a wheel down and saw the jeep guys pullin up, stopping, and watching... SO... felling the need to represent all us Taco guys, i committed.. dropped down the first step and BAM.. cross brace, exhaust, gas tank are all scraping, step down the next one, same thing, tires are flexin and rubbin, more scrapin.. made it down, but fearful of the outcome.. I got out, checked the truck and had a small pinched area in the exhaust, and my trailer connector bent, thats it.

Chilled there for a bit and BS'd with the Jepp guys. watched them crawl and flex this Rubicon with solid axles, lockers front and rear, and 40" pro comp Xtremes. Finally got on our way and crawled up the ridge again... made our way over to cove 2, and were starting up to go to 3.. Thought i would try out the locker in 2HI.. So, started at the bottom of one of the hills, stated slipping and realized i wasnt goin anywhere. popped in into reverse and started backing down. had the wheels cranked left to back down and the loose rock and dirt just slid the truck straight back, down a steeper part, and over a HUGE boulder. Truck was high centered and the right bedside was up against mesquite tree. couldnt move forward, and when i tried to back up, i just stuck myself more and got closer to the tree.

Locked the truck, grabbed the gun, and headed back towards cove 2. finally hiked over ther and found a couple guys with solid axle v8 chevy crawlers. got them to come back, tie up to the rear and pull the truck away from the tree. then pulled me backwards over the rock and to safety.. lol have three big pinches in the exhaust and a slight dent in my right bedside. was EXTREMELY lucky. it could have been alot worse.

AFter that, the rescue guys, lol, took us out to Sycamore for my first time and did a run up widomaker at night. pretty crazy. I love that area!

overall, fun, and exciting day. definitely lucky and glad there asnt anymore damage to the truck. i know the story sounds lame, but it was a pretty bad spot to be stuck in. high centered, and up against a tree. not fun. but survived. lol

this was right after the first step down when i heard crunch.. then the next one in front of me as well...

he had problems climbing it also..

they had to winch this guy up after he got stuck..

Soo, just got a quote to get the wheel fixed using alloy wheel repair.. 125 bucks.. that's ridiculous. I can get a brand new wheel for 120! I'm hopefully getting the tpms fixed friday, and then see what the damage is after washing the wheel. Maybe Ill try to fix it myself.. or just get a new wheel. Not sure what to do.. :/ any advice TW'ers?

Ok, got some good news on my wheel. 20 bucks for the tpms from a fellow member, and 30 bucks for discount tire to Install and program.

Then for the wheel itself, just have to get a scotchbright pad, and satin black paint and repaint It.

    DONE.

    Update:

Nofords ordered me my HID Hellas, I ordered my new HID bulbs, harness, and rock lights, and I got my tpms last night. Now I have to get it installed at discount today, and wait for my goodies and install them next weekend along with a cb and possibly a PA speaker. I'll probably try and fix my wheel with either sharpie or touch up paint and pop the dent out of the bedside myself. :D

Then off to the dunes and put them all to use!

After that, back to the dealer to get the Zaktec Interior/exterior protection re-applied.

Ok, enough venting.. just helps to stayed organized and planned out.. I think I have OCD.. lol

    goody update:

Picked up some labeled rocker switches from Sierra Expeditions for my Hellas and rock lights. Got my led rock lights. Little bastards are pretty bright when testing one on a 9v.. I'm sure with all of them on 12v power, they should light up the ground nicely. Still waiting for my new HID bulbs and harness from DDM.. and tomorrow ordering my HID Hellas. It should all be done by the time we go to Glamis. Can't wait. Hooking up the switches and rock lights this weekend.

Still need to wash the truck.. it vibrates like mad goin 50+ due to all the mud. That's after the rain, and power washing the under side. Lol.
