Let's go!!!! All the parts are here. Marlin Crawler 2.75" RCLT kit, LC200 steering rack, RCV axles, and Locked Offroad shocks.

    20241012_095840.jpg

The Marlin kit is just beef compared to stock!

Have to get this in and fit the 37's before the Backway to Crown King trip in a few weeks. Will be slow going the temps are still over 100 during the day....

If I knew I was getting a second vehicle I would have went right to 40's. I'll run the 37's for a while then go bigger.

Wowza, you aren’t fucking around!! Can’t wait to see it in action!

Don’t worry, if you don’t get it done in time we can pick a FS road to take our CRVs on

Those are great looking wheels. I often wish I had gone with machine wheels instead of bronze.

I briefly considered getting them powder coated a dark blue but, once I assemled a wheel and put it next to the truck I was sold on the machined look.

So, I'm manual, on 35s, with 4:88 gears and plan to go to 37s next time I need tires. Do you plan to regear to 5:29 or will the supercharger handle the difference sufficiently?

I'm still in process of finishing up the front suspension and fitting the 37s, but as of now I plan on staying with the 4.88s. My thought is the supercharger will take up any deficiency the larger tires add.

Once I get some miles on the new setup I can report back.

I'll keep an eye out to see how you do. I'm currently waiting to see if anyone runs a black friday deal that applies to the Magnuson, either way it'll be in the truck by the end of the year. I really don't want to re-regear.

Made some progress installing the front suspension.

Last weekend I got everything pulled apart. Front Suspension off, diff out, and steering rack removed. Every thing has a nice dirt coat from all the fluid film sprayed on the frame..

Next up was to install the Martec poly motor mounts I bought a long time ago. With everything out they were easy to get to.

Comparison of stock and enging mounts from Martec(left)

Added some spacers to raise the engine. Will make it a little easier to get the large LC200 steering rack in.
    20241019_075808.jpg

Lots of work went into fitting the LC200 steering rack. I didn't take picture of the process of getting it in, but it was not fun. Cutting, drilling, welding, and cussing involved.

Stock rack vs the LC200 rack. The size difference is laughable.

    Upper control arms in.

Spindles and seals installed in steering knuckles.

Lots of work left, and my body hurts. These kind of project remind me that I'm not 20 lol.

When I tubbed my 1st gen, I made my weld in piece 1" larger all around the perimeter than the template. I then drilled 1/16 holes every 1/2" and just spot welded the panel in place. I know most people will try to butt weld the whole thing in, but I found this much easier. You apply less heat, get less burn through, and less shrinkage/warpage. Then just seam seal the hell out of it. Just food for thought.
