What size spring is in the wastegate?

Those seats will definitely give you some better lateral support, compared to that love seat. Lol.

Also, I like that little move with the GTE cam gear swap. Smart stuff.

What about the cams? Are yours and the GTE cams similar in profiles? Just curious because to much overlap on the LSA would be a bad thing.

Not sure on the spring. I plan on looking up the part and ordering a complete set or springs.

Yeah GTE doesn't have VVTi, but the IS motors have coil packs. So I'm kinda mix matching to get what I want. Which is no VVTi but run coil packs. Also I don't think this would be possible without using a stand alone.

I believe the profiles are slightly different with the GTE being better for boost applications.
I also heard that the cam is slightly longer and I would have to mill down one end..which is not a problem.

A confirmation on the wouldn't hurt, but it just makes sense. The N/A cams optimized for N/A and Turbo for itself. Just makes sense that the factory would do it that way.

Which EMS are you planning to use?

I really have not decided yet!
It really depends on who will be tuning it, what they suggest, and what will be optimum for the truck.
My engine builder is out there in Orange Texas...might have to come check your truck out.

But for EMS I'm thinking AEM, Haltech, or pro efi

    I have the ProEFI Pro128.

Have Chris Delgado tune it. He is the regional tuner for ProEFI. He also tunes other platforms as well. He is a renown tuner. For high profile cars. All the way down to the little guy like Toon with his turbo Tacoma.Once mine is ready, he will be retuning mine.

He is good friends with the guys at www.kozmicmotorsports.com

That is the only way I know how to get in contact with him, since I lost his number.

When I purchased it, the unit alone was $1900. Then the plug n play wiring harness was $750. Then the 3 sensors I also needed @ $150 each. MAP, Fuel pressure, and AFR.

I still need to get the oil pressure sensor. I already have a second AFR sensor, for when that time comes. ;)

    WOW!!! That is soooo expensive!!!
I guess if I want it done right I gotta pay.

Titan called me today my pistons are going to take 3-4 weeks to get in, so engine build is on hold. :(

I guess that will give me time to get everything else done.

You want quality, with ton of safety features as well as tons of features, it is going to cost.

Want your little Taco to have flawless traction control with stepping boost? Boost per rpm or throttle position? Individual cylinder fuel trims? Complete cam control? EGT, back pressure, water temp, oil temp, air temp safety features. Over boost, smart boost, full sequential injector tuning, auto adjust of high or low impedence injectors (which is extremely handy BTW), & blah bla blah blah blah.... as well as many others unlisted by me. The cost will be equateable with those feature. You could probably do just fine with something less expensive. Don't get me wrong. Plenty have tuned theirs on AEM standalones as well.

But trust this. It no matter how how many features a unit has, it comes down to how good the tuner is with the device. And a premier tuner with a great tuning device will wipe the slate clean with a not as capable device, in the same car.

Also, if AMS likes it in their GTRs, it is a worthy unit. ;) Hehe.

Yeah i hear all that dude!!

I really just need to talk to someone experienced with both that can tell me exactly why it's worth the money, but you did a hell of a job. Lol

So what software does one need to tune a ProEfi?? Does it have to be tuned on a dyno or can I make changes at home?

Well be it that Titan is going to take 3-4 weeks to get my internals. I reached out to Brian Crower who had great customer service and shipped my bearings and studs out the next day.
Waiting to hear back from them, could be working out a deal to get a discount but I'll prob be building my entire engine with BC parts. Which I'm not against...but it's still a lot of money.
I knew this build would evolve as it progressed, but I think ima slow down and build this thing right. It has now become my top build.
Look out 1000HP because I'm coming for you!

Oh snap!!!! I can vouch for BC as well. I worked with Dustin over there. Stand up guy. We encountered an issue, and he was ready and will to right it. Top notch parts and customer service.

First, I would give Paul at www.Dezod.com a call and see what he can tell you about the AEM standalone. He knows his stuff very well. And it doesn't hurt to be well informed on that unit either.

Then I would call and talk to most likely Jason at ProEFI. That one, requires you to also purchase a CAN cable to be able to communicate with the EMS. When I purchased mine I was able to tune it on my own with that cable. I just downloaded the software. I don't know if you can do that anymore?

I currently have the 6265. But it isn't rated for what I am after. Plus, it is journal bearing, and I am wanting a BB this time.
