The search function failed me, but has anyone used the Supreme Suspension Shackle Mounts for ACTUAL recovery? They look better than the "Demon" mounts, however the weak point is likely the crossmember that they mount to (with one bolt). I was thinking of welding a plate to the mount and adding a second bolt to the innerside of the cross member.

Maybe I am overthinking this but I like having a couple of good closed shackles on the front instead of the single open hook on the passenger side.

welcome.....they are not for recovery - just for show.....the problem is what they bolt to is not strong enough and only one bolt to attach it? really?

That is my thought too, however since the factory tow hook on the passenger side is bolted on the same cross member (with two bolts) I am thinking the engineers must consider it somewhat strong enough as a connection point.
It just boggles my mind that Toyota did not put decent connection points on the front of this truck.
