I highly recommend Village Pointe Toyota in Omaha, NE. I saved thousands by ordering a #7545 with them, waiting several months for it to show up, and then flying in to drive it back to Nevada. I paid an "exceptional price" according to the TrueCar.com bell curve, and they were easy to deal with and honest. I think I paid slightly below invoice, not including tax...but *no* other fees.

You'll pay whatever deal you hammer out with the sales manager. Since you're pushing them to get the truck you want instead of on hand inventory they won't be willing to deal too much.

It all depends on what's more important to you, having the truck you want or driving a truck close to what you want for the best price?

Weird. I walked into the local dealer in October of '16, they had two right there on the lot and unspoken for. When I left they only had one.

I got my DCSB TRD OR 6MT WTF BBQ OMG for $3,000 off sticker, and had to wait a few weeks for it. It was in the queue of available trucks, I just got my name on it.

I found one on Cars.com that wasn't even on the lot yet and drove ten hours to get it. Good luck

I would pop into the posting on here with members posting the prices they paid. It helps to get an idea how the market is right now and in what area. To give an idea I paid invoice plus $150 for mine when I ordered it in December... I believe it was 33,750 before taxes... My OTD was 36,600 I think it's been a few months I don't recall the exact number. (7% sales tax)

Nashville had a TRDOR DCSB manual last week. Mag Gray

I'm in NE Arkansas. Went with a SR5 4x4 from Jonesboro.

Mine was MSRP, ordered Dec 2015 and delivered Feb 2016. At that time a QS DCLB OR 4X4 was as rare as hens teeth. I went to 5 different dealerships in my area and I told all the first with an allocation on what I wanted would get my business. They had plenty of SB ORs in various colors that I could get a deal on but I didn't want that. I wasn't looking to get the best deal, I was looking to get the truck I wanted in a reasonable amount of time.

Story time: wife and I showed up in our lifted Tundra. She also had a Scion tC serviced at the stealership. We were looking for a 4 door quicksand in manual and we're willing to compromise everything but the transmission. I was just asking to drive any manual and then order one but "we can't keep a manual transmission of the lot because they sell too fast." We them asked if they could get one for me to test drive. "We don't do that because if you don't buy it we are stuck with it." Don't contradict yourself! Apparently they didn't want our money; took our business 100 miles away and found what we wanted. Rant over.

Yup, #7545: 2017 Dcab 4x4 TRD OR shortbed V6 with 6MT, premium/tech (HH), tow (TO) and the shit all wx floor mats :)

I waited a long time (took a few months), but I think I pulled off a great deal. Depending on your personal haste/rush, I wouldn't accept any price more expensive than the average TrueCar price, and you can certainly do better if you are patient. Ordering a specific config doesn't mean you are locked into high prices.

^^this. Just because it's a special order doesn't mean they make any less money. They just know if you want it badly enough you'll budge on price. Just treat it like any other car and price different dealerships, esp those with Internet consultants. They are much more likely to strike a quick sale because they want the sales numbers instead of trying to make a bigger profit.
