Aftermarket “blackout kit” costs around $60 and is pretty much the same thing, some plastic and some sticky shit. Maybe a couple hundred if you want the tailpipe too. Not sure what predator steps cost but for $3k no way.

My local dealer tried to sell me on adding the “XSP Package” to my truck in 2020 when it was coming in. I looked at the list of things and price they wanted and told them to get bent. XSP was something like blacked out emblems and tailgate inserts, predator steps, fake “beadlock” look alike wheels with the stock tires, black exhaust tip, and a bedside decal that said XSP. They wanted around $8,500 for this package, couldn’t believe how many XSP I saw driving around shortly after down here in SW Florida.

Good question, I had filled out the paper work without paying that much attention then I saw the final price, I said no, he said "I'll talk to my manager and see what else we need to get from you" in a real ugly tone.

The alarm system they put in it gets a solid 1 star rating online, seriously crummy alarm can't recall the brand though.

Ahh, maybe I’m a bit more lenient on what I’m including in the blackout kit, for about $60 on Amazon I was able to pick up the side Tacoma badges, the tailgate TACOMA inserts, and the 4x4 badging on the back, then for $15 on Etsy, I picked up an all black vinyl TRD off-road decal. Again I didn’t care much about the tailpipe but I checked out of curiosity and it wasn’t too expensive.

Nice catch, only thing added to the truck I wanted was the technology package and leather seats (I live in a hella cold area during the winters) so I hopped on it. After I was allocated I asked about what add-ons do they tack on and was told about “stargard.” Is that the alarm system you’re talking about? I figured since I got lucky enough to find the specific truck in trim/color/minimal add-ons at MSRP the shitty alarm system is a small price to pay so I jumped on it. Trucks actually being built today and if I’m lucky I’ll have it in a week. If it takes a while it’ll be 2-4 weeks but still way earlier than the originally projected 6 months.

I had to dig around but it's the Karr BT 60. app store reviews https://apps.apple.com/us/app/karr-bt/id1248042045 it actually did better on Apples app store than on Androids.

    I did the same.

Black Emblem Overlay AND Tailgate Insert together is $20 on Amazon.

Also paid $15 for all-black sidebed vinyl decals.

And bought the OEM black chrome exhaust tip for $70.

Would NEVER pay that amount the OP posted!
