I’d just like to reiterate even though “oem” blackout kit at Toyota’s MSRP is super overpriced.

How many dealers hang out here any way?
Another interesting fact is the NORCAL (or maybe all of Cali) dealerships got themselves in trouble for price fixing ~18 years ago.

You’re absolutely right. Those blackout kits are plastic. Just plastic. Not sure why those cost that much. If I’m not mistaken the genuine Toyota predator bars cost around $600. The remaining $2,400 is for labor, overhead and bonus for everyone for ripping you off.

That's insane! Like others have said, blackout badges are cheap - or just debadge. For $2k you can get so many more real blackout necessities like tinted front windows, grill and black rims if needed, meso smoked turn signals, etc. just sad they charge those prices to make vehicles look like they should in the first place.

This dealership does seem to have a history of this, and price fixing with other local dealers.
    Folsom Lake Toyota.
I talked to Toyota corporate and they tried to tell me the trucks were shipped to the dealer like that, so I asked why a person has to make an appointment to have them added if they are shipped that way... that ended that conversation.

The name sounds familiar, when I was still “dealer shopping” I gave them a call and after hearing their market adjustment I said thanks but no thanks. There are some good dealers out there selling at MSRP it just may require a long drive, or flight for some.

It's funny because I just read a story that Ford was warning dealers not to do this.
    https://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/gm-ford-issue-warning-car-dealers-inflate-prices-82783955

Toyota corporate say "they are shipped that way to the dealers", wow what a contrast.

It is funny though, posting private messages, you act just like your avatar, blunt and stupid.

When I bought my truck new in 2018, the sales dude told me for $400 they would install the black out kit.

Not sure if the Predator bars are the same as the Predator steps, but I got them free. Bought the truck in St. Augustine, and they got it from Jax, he told me Jax would take the Predator steps off, so he had to pay for them.
