    I have two ways:
    1. I have a bed extender and I just lay the boards on top of the bed and they stick out over the extender.
    2. I also have a Rack on back of my bed.

Short trips I use option #1
Long trips I use option #2

    I hope this helps.

I have a double cab short bed and I carry both my 9'0 and my 10'0 with the tailgate down and they rest ontop of the bed extender. I went to home depot and in the plumbing section I bought some foam pipe insulation and wrapped a section of my bed extender with zip ties to secure, so they rest on it. Nose towards the cab, tail ontop of the bed extender. Use bungee to secure onto bed extender.
