Surveillance video enhancement for hit and run!

Hey TW,

Does anyone here do video enhancement or know any programs that can assist in this field.

Long story short, a family members’ 6 month old truck got sideswiped a couple days ago. The silver Nissan Maxima drove off. Hopefully we can get a plate number to find these people.

Most state law enforcement agencies have audio/visual units that do this exact work for serious crimes, but also do it on your type of case if asked to do so by local LE. You’d be shocked at how many local law enforcement agencies don’t know this is a thing and you might suggest it to them.

don't think you'll be able to get a plate number but that car looks easily identifiable. tinted windows, broken side window(s), sticker in rear window, damaged right front, black trim on license plate. I'd drive around the area until you find it. they probably live nearby.

 

You didnt even have to say hit and run, with a nissan maxima owner is implied that they would hit and run.

 

This may help, but admit I have not had the necessity to try it myself. Topaz Labs makes a variety of softwares to process/enhance pictures, this one, Topaz Video AI get some pretty good reviews and is for video only.
Your degree of resourcefulness can impact the overall price.

In all seriousness, ask around for anyone else that might have security cams or ring doorbells in the area?

Edit: Keep all of the accident trash too, paint match and/or pieces from the other car might come in handy.

They actually did this but no luck. The car must’ve been towed or driven off immediately from the area because it was nowhere in sight.

I use Topaz but I don't think it will be able to help - the plate is just too out of focus -

But with the make/model and obvious front-end damage it should be pretty easy to find -
I'm sure you are checking w/ other ring-cams, and I'd check with any businesses down the street(s) for cams as well.
Front passenger tire is busted up.

I’m always amazed that hit and run people always have such nice cars but no insurance. I mean really why waste all that $$$ when you could just go buy a crap car to hit and run people.
