What’s your pick for NON daily truck (265/75R16)? KO3 or Wildepeak AT4W

I take this out mostly on desert trails - washboards, gravel, and such. Nothing crazy.

    Both are E Load.

Wildepeak has better warranty (not that I don’t see myself using it) costs a bit less (about $20 per tire).

    Same tire weight.

    Wildepeak is 0.3 inches taller

Disappointed. Thought there would be a survey...

If you make one, have none of the above as an option. :D

From what I have read, KO2’s are very popular in those conditions. However, KO3’s have changed to some degree along with the Falken Wildpeaks AT4W from the 3’s.

If it was me, it would most likely be a toss up. Maybe would simply come down to price.

    I vote Yokohama Geolander A/T

Because it's got mild road manners, and is one of the best-ranked tires on tire rack for white lettered tires like every real truck should have.

For a non-daily (offroad being primary purpose), I'd go with the General Grabber X3.
But of the two you mentioned, BFG.

    BFG KO3 no question.

For a daily driver I'd say wildpeaks, but I've seen many tires offroad and the BFG really is better than most all terrains for offroading. They just have a poor reputation because they are run ragged on nearly every other truck.

That said I'd push for an R/T tire for this truck, so any hybrid tire, like the ridge grappler, Toyo R/T, Yoko X, M/T Baja Boss X

Hybrid/RT tires are chunkier and offroad much better than street all terrains.

Ive got the K03's on my GX and have always run the K02's on my Tacoma. I like both of em. I would have got the K03's on my 1st gen, but they dont make em in that size yet.

I vote for the KO3. I’ve also heard good things about the Goodyear DuraTrac RT’s.

Cooper S/T Maxx...3 ply sidewall for off highway driving is not a bad idea.

Can't go wrong with either or any other major brand.

I'm happy with my Wildpeaks and pleasantly surprised at the road manners.

I like my Wildpeaks At3's. Loved my Duratracs. < Great off road, great in the snow, better in the rain than my Wildpeaks

Oh there will be some mods all right
I would say I agree with what was already posted, an RT tire would be great for a non-daily driven truck.

I’ve never run either tire, but it seems to me from reading tons of reviews that the Wildpeak outperforms the KO3 in most categories. However, I’m pretty sure the KO3 was designed for the desert right? Maybe I’m wrong. I always stayed away from them (The KO2s) because of the bad wet weather ratings.

I vote for the round ones! :)

One should pick a tire that best meets their needs, but of the two you listed I would go with the K03's

If you’re not going to daily it, my vote would be a MT, not an AT

This why go mild. I don't daily my truck and run yoko G003's. Don't necessarily need them but damn do they look good and for how agresdive they are drive pretty damn well all around.

Maybe elaborate on your very informative statement. As I am interested in the RT trail. But as much as I would agree my experience with the k02's was very lackluster I wouldn't blanket statement that one of the most popular off road tire brands just plain ol sucks.
