I am older, been driving more than 30 years and never once owned Automatic anything, absolutely no desire to be disconnected from the vehicle.

I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I read this. I hope the Ridgeline dies the same unpopular, excruciating death that its predecessor did.

You keep that evil shit away from my Taco.

Some of those seem pretty far fetched.
Still would like to see a power sliding rear window and power seats.

I also doubt we will see these changes next year.

Its as predictable as the sun coming up in the morning. It wasn't that long ago that Tacos had solid front axles, rugged boxed frames, steel bumpers, interiors made to get dirty, payload capacities as advertised, and they rode like trucks. Now we get fragile IFS with limited geometry, light flexy C channel frames, expensive plastic bumpers, cloth interiors, leafs that collapse to the bumps with a 500 lb load, and a passenger car ride. All the average buyer cares about in a new truck is that it looks good and is comfortable. Round trips to Taco Bell and an occasional load of garden supplies is all they are used for.

It's going to happen... That Tacoma in your garage will one day be mainly driven by the front wheels and have a very road compliant fully independent suspension. It might even have a hybrid battery stowed underneath that plastic bed.

Then back over to Jeeps I'll go, if it comes to that. The 2017 re-design has been confirmed to keep straight-axle suspension. The last model run for just over a decade, so this next one will likely go for just as long.

I think there will always be a work truck, though - don't agree that all trucks will be like that. I'm sure some will be - like the Ridgeline, which, again, died a terrible death before because it was so unpopular.

Been driving since 1969 and loved MT. But when your knees ache and your joints are sore, auto becomes a god send.

    Hallelujah Brother!

When I was young there was a saying that went like this:

Automatics were built for women and one legged men.

As I aged above 58 and my hips and knees went downhill I discovered that was a lie. Automatics were built for women, one legged men and us more mature gentlemen.

I think you guys were missing my point, I just want a manual to be available in the Tacoma, I think its great that Automatics are a Godsend for people that want them, I just don't happen to like them.

no not at all. Autos are superior in most ways to manuals and stronger too. In the old days it was the opposite on strength. Autos have always been superior in certain traction conditions. One thing I will say about the survey is most everything talked about on this forum was on there except rear leaves and brakes. I4 had some impressive numbers both power and MPGs.

It's a survey, not a contract to deliver. I wouldn't be too worked up yet.

And the promise of a cash (Amazon card) incentive to participate? Most surveys like this collect a lot of demographic info on the participant.

Wondering if this was a Nigerian based query to harvest a fair bit of your personal info......... please see if your spam mail rate skyrockets. :D

Hope so. Age range, gender, income range, marital status, home ownership status, etc etc. are all pretty useful for legit survey compilation.

But it's also useful for spammers to sell your email, name, mailing address and phone number, most of which were probably needed to be able to send you your payment............

They're welcome to mine. State of Fl. let mine loose in 2013, then OPM (gov) in 2015, followed by Experian. o_O:frusty::facepalm:
