Sushi used to be my jam, now I’m always just bored with it.

I’m all about that ahi poke though. There’s this place on Oahu that I love, usually eat it every day while I’m on the island. Nothing mainland compares.

I've seen those before but no one local makes them yet. Well no one where I'd eat lol.

I find Japanese restaurants up here and when I travel do a great job of keeping other food like various cooked beef and chicken dishes on the menu so I've never been bored per say. It also helps that it seems like everyone likes to put their own twist on roles now which makes things unique per restaurant.

Chicken and horse are unique to eat raw. Very expensive in Japan though.

Lived in Japan for 3 yrs so it killed my ability to like American sashimi. But if you get to Oahu then try Fresh Catch in Kaimuki, Tamura's or sometimes believe it or not Times has awesome Poke.

Hibachi in Kailua is mine. Total hole in the wall, but it’s delicious

2 out of the 4lbs of yellow tail from hunts point fish market. Nice to have some friends that deal in buying and selling this stuff.

I forget the name of this roll but it was deep fried and crunchy. And they serve it with fresh wasabi. Really makes a difference.

Just because I could... Definitely not traditional... Bacon "sushi" with chicken, shrimp, sushi rice, remoulade sauce and sriracha.
