    I was craving some sushi yesterday but we didn't want to go out for it. Picked up a half pound ahi steak from my local shop & made some sashimi for me & shrimp cocktail for my wife (homemade cocktail sauce). Tasty! :cheers:

    Another batch of sashimi last week. Salmon was fantastic, tuna was a little on the chewy side this time but still tasty.

    Loosened the nut behind the wheel. ADS mid travel.
    Best sushi coast to coast is Sushi Ran.

    A close second is http://catalinaop.com/ in my kitchen. They are the uni people.

    I'll echo a common theme here: UNI !!!!

    But I only get it at my regular places where I know the chef and they come over to brag about how good their Uni is right now.
    I rarely order it anywhere because it is only good for a day and is always old. Never order it if it's on the menu.

    You need fresh wasabi.

    I had a marinated Chu-Toro at Sushi Ran that may be the best bite I ever had.

    Fresh wasabi is the bomb! My sushi guy recently turned me on to it and what a difference it makes! My sushi guy also got me to try Amaebi where they deep fry the shrimp head. It was delicious and crunchy. Also a big fan of his deep fried green tea ice cream!

    This was two nights ago, I was cleaning out the freezer and found some Unagi, I scored something that was forgotten and hidden. I love me some grilled Unagi Don on Kabayaki Rice. A little unfiltered Nigori Saki and it is just like the pro cook it at the local sushi shop.
