I had suspention airbags on my F150 for a Northstar pop-up camper. I had my truck in for some tire work and the mechanic noticed a huge crack in my frame where the airbag was mounted. It was only hanging on with one side of the U bar.

I ended up getting the frame welded at a cost of $1,500 and put on helper springs in lieu of the airbags. Great weld job, so it works fine. Turns out the other side was just starting to go, as well.

After doing some research, I found that cracked frames from airbags are not all that unusual.

If you have them on, keep an eye on your frame. Just an FYI.
