Anyone else having issues with the back end bottoming out frequently due to added weight? I only have a canopy and some dog crates in the back.
    Looking for solutions...
Should I get helper springs? Sumo? Airbags? A full lift kit isn't out of the question, but I would like to know if there are cheaper alternatives

2017 DCSB OR, ARE V series canopy, stock everything else

Upgraded leaf pack and shocks will definitely help out with your situation.

Do you have a budget in mind?

There are a lot of different options for you

I'd rather not do a full suspension upgrade yet. Its my DD and I like it the way it is now.

If you liked the way it is now, then you wouldn't have started this thread.

Clarification: Aside from the suspension bottoming out to readily, I like the way it is now.

Just looking for the best solution that doesn't involve tossing the leaf pack and shocks off a brand new truck

I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
I had similar issue, rear sag. Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road set me straight, going with new leaf pack. Happy to send you the email if you want.

Because you added weight to the rear, it's going to sag and feel very bouncy.

You need a new leaf pack to get that taken care of or you can try by doing an AAL or Mini pack.

The AAL or Mini pack is the least expensive way to go.

You also said in the beginning that a full kit isn't out of the question.

If it's a ride height issue, then you want a mini pack or full replacement leaf pack.

If it's just a bottoming out issue then you just need properly tuned shocks.

I have a set of Airlift airbags that I put on my 2015 DCLB 4x4 when I load it up with all my camping gear. I have a fiberglass shell on my truck. The bags work well when my truck its loaded down but I do take them off when I'm back home. I don't like the ride with the airbags when I empty the truck out. Takes about 30 minutes to put them on or off. Use them 2 - 3 per year. If I had to do it again, I would go with a leaf spring upgrade.

Just throw a new leaf pack and billy 5100s in the back and call it a day... If it makes you feel better, keep the stock stuff in your garage instead of tossing it.
