    Sanity check as well...

When I installed the OME suspension on my 1st gen, the instructions showing the assembly of the front shocks/coils was photocopied from a copy like 500x and barely legible. I forgot to put the top washer on and a few years later I started getting a clunk like you describe. I disassembled, installed a new washer on top of both sides and problem was solved.

    Final update.

Got the energy suspension bushings. I was able to droop the leaf packs enough to pound out the stock Dakar bushings without removing the U-bolts. The passenger side popped right out with a dead blow hammer and hate but the driver's side required a ball joint press. Had to unbolt a couple brake line brackets too.

Getting it all lined back up was a pain but it's back together now and the clunk is GONE! Rides like a new truck.

Now just need to convince myself to replace all my OME crap with Icon...

Nice on resolving the clunk... Not trying to be negative but I have to ask, is that a crack??

I think it’s just a trick of the light (flash and angle from photo), the whole underbody is coated in fluid film, but I’m definitely gonna crawl under the truck and look before work tomorrow
