Hi all, looking at a 2 inch lift, so far i have narrowed it down to

    1) Old Man Emu, Medium suspension lift kit (OMETAC16MKSB)

    2) Bilstein 5100 with OME springs and a min pack (TAC1.95KIT)

    3) Bilstein B8 6112- 0-2" front 0-1.5" rear 5160 kit. (SKU#47-234413_25-242539_25-242379 not sure if this needs leafs added or not)

I searched the forum a bit but didn't really find any comparison between these. I am trying to avoid going higher mostly because i dont need it and dont feel like getting into UCA replacements and everything else that comes with a higher lift. I did end up purchasing some rims (posted the other week) 18X9 -12 offset. And my intention is to run either 265/70R18 or 265/65R18s. This should keep me in the 32" range if i did my math correctly.

Oh, mostly road travel, paved. But my area is full of "packed gravel and dirt" roads (ie pot hole ridden back roads) and some driving in the fields for hunting season. No i am NOT an avoid rock crawler, but i do like driving in mud and dirt :) If that helps with any suggestions

SO if anyone has reviews on those kits or comparisons of them i would love to hear it.

    Welcome, to TW!

I have the OME lift, albeit the heavy version and have been very happy. Though I’ve heard nothing but good things about your other options either. You’re kind of in a can’t loose situation.

I went 255 85 16’s as I believe that is the right size on a 3rd Gen personally. Just my $0.02

Me too, mostly for crappy gravel back roads and some occasional trails and light off-roading. I wanted a ~2”/1.5” lift so I started comparing and researching but I didn’t want to spend a fortune on high-end stuff.....

-Initially I thought i’d just do a spacer/AAL lift for looks and convenience.
-Then I decided to spend more and get Bilstein 5100’s but I read that they’re not much of an improvement over my stock OR suspension and they can’t be rebuilt either.
-So then I thought I might buy a Bilstein 6112/5160 kit but the digressive valving is something I didn’t think i’d like.
-I ended-up ordering an Ironman4x4 FCP kit, AAL’s and Airlift rear bags (for towing) Not gonna install the Ironman UCA’s or leaf packs that come with the kit but i’ll be using the driveshaft bearing drop and possibly buy a 2 degree axle shim. I’ll wait and see if I need the ECGS bushing.....

Gonna install it when I get back to the US.....

    Lots, straight from the factory.
I went with the 6112 in front and 5100 with a 1” block in the rear. I rarely if ever carry weight in the back, so AAL would have just made for a crappy ride. Similar to you, I have a lot of packed dirt roads, and a lot if washboard roads. We also have a fair bit of rock ledge, I don’t do any rock crawling, but some of the rocky trails are fun. I am very happy with the suspension setup. It rides really well, and I think it looks great. The more important part, is it handles extremely well on all the different types of roads.

I installed a OME medium load on my 2020 and had an OME heavy load on my 2010 (which was a heavier build). You can get better for more money and complexity (like UCAs), though OME hasn’t let me down in over 100k miles of driving on them. The weekend after I installed the suspension we did a 100 mile group run on low grade asphalt, and forest and logging roads. We were really pleased with the overall ride and I haven’t found myself needing or wanting more.

Thanks all for the input, I ended up purchasing an OME medium kit, firmer valving, 888 coils and standard Dakar leaf spring kit. Cant wait for it to arrive for installation
