2-3" suspension and 1-2" BL is better IMO. But what are you using the truck for? Off roading, mall runner, DD? What size wheels/tires are you gonna want to run? I doubt PreRunners requires the removal of the cross member only 4X4's.

Anytime you alter your suspension past stock geometry you are putting everything at risk. I suggest either Bilstein 5100 Adjustable front shocks set at 2.5" w/ trimming to fit those 33's or ToyTec/OME coil spring lifts. It all depends on the budget you have planned for it as well. You can go cheap with hockey puck spacer lifts and rear blocks to coil spring lifts to drop bracket kits to coilovers. Then blocks for the rear to shackles to AAL's to full custom leaf packs. I say figure out a budget and what you want to use your truck for. Ideally you want to run 4" to clear 33's but most people get away with 2.5-3" suspension lift w/ 33's or 285/75R16's w/ trimming aka pinch weld mod.

Edit: 1-2" BL is save to run.
