I want to switch out my fox 2.0 coil overs and fox rear shocks with the stock ones that came with my truck. I wanted to know if it will be hard to do it myself. My shocks are still compressed on my truck, I seen some videos of people decompressing they with a floor jack any suggestions.

I have a 2014 Tacoma. Also the fox shocks gave me a 3” lift, idk if that would make it any different or harder to do this task

    Yeah.
To just do the swap, you likely don't need to disassemble the coilovers. You need stock front springs as well, you probably can't use the springs from the Fox coilovers on the stock shocks. If your OEM coilovers are still assembled, sounds like an easy swap.

Yeah I have my stock ones. So would I just have to remove my sway bar out of the way and a couple bolts removed right, then I can decompress the front shock with the floor jack right?

    Yeah.
You should just have to get the front wheels off the ground -- just jacking the truck up should decompress the shock. You will have the get the sway bar out of the way, and if there was a relocation kit installed, that would need to come off as well. I have done fronts without disconnecting the upper control arm from the spindle, but I think most people do that and it makes it easier to get the coilover out. Three bolts at the top and one at the bottom. Snug the bottom bolt down, but don't torque until you have the truck back on the ground (and don't forget to torque it).

    EDIT: ^ Good video

Yeah my car was in a crash so it’s a at a lot. They insurance claimed it a total loss but the damage was in the front. I’m not sure if the people that put my lift did any relocating.

    Yeah.
Again, you don't have to disassemble the coilover. It comes out as a single unit.

    Yeah.
I don't think there is much of a difference unless you get ahold of the Pro suspension. Even then, as long as the coilovers are assembled, it's really just nuts and bolts.

Check my build thread...too much to list.
You could also disconnect the steering arm from the spindle. That clears up a ton of space to move the shock around and pull it out.

Yes is that video. Make sure you jack up frame high enough.

Yup, 3 up top and the single bolt through the bottom. Recommend you also bring some WD40, rubber mallet/hammer and maybe a punch to help assist that bolt. All depending how bad it's rusted.

Edit: Just watched the provided video and it's a good guide.

Honestly, if you have to ask... you probably shouldn’t touch ANYTHING on your truck.

The truck is a total loss...He is trying to get his upgraded suspension parts back. What better time to learn than on a truck that isn't going back on the road anytime soon.

    Yeah.
Got it, so ignore the relocation comment. If you are just trying to get your old suspension out of a totaled vehicle, I wouldn't worry about getting it back together properly. Just get it back in there, hand-tighten stuff and GTFO of there.
